Don't worry about it. Go down to the gas station and get a map. If you need, get your junk out of the wife's purse first.

I agree, I was telling someone the other day that it would have been nice to have built in Navigation in the truck, but no big deal, I guess that's why I have the maps.....

The tinfoil hat wearing side of me hates those damn things because I don't need or want someon following my every move for any reason. Plus I can read a map.

You can get 'em in Expeditions, Navigators, and Aviators. I doubt it'll ever make it to the F-Series, navigation already isn't a very popular option on the Ford vehicles it's available on.

If I had extra money laying around and frequently traveled outside of my normal area then I would strongly consider a navigation system in any vehicle.

Not everyone has a map of everywhere in their glovebox or console and it could come in handy.

I remember a long time ago cell phones weren't as popular as they are today. Who could have imagined needing to carry a phone with them wherever they went? Now even little kids have their own phones. I am sure in the future navigation will be as standard as a CD player in cars.

$2K for a navigation system is a little too rich for me. A Tomas Guide and yahoo maps works great.

If I was a realtor or something, then perhaps I could see the value.

I don't understand why the systems allow you to "remember" a destination.

I mean, after you've been there once, you already know how to get there

Just saw an article about the DVD-based nav systems going into some 2006 FoMoCo vehicles, including the Ford 500, Freestyle, etc. The article says that the F-Series will eventually get a nav system...

http://wardsauto.com/ar/auto_fords_c...trio/index.htm

With the exception of email exchanges I've had with Ford, this the first time I have seen F-Series and Navigation mentioned in the same paragraph.

I thought for sure the LT would have it... I mean, after all the 'Wood did. 'Gators do... WTF Ford?! I always wondered what they where thinking. I've thought about buying the 'gator units off e-bay, but they are silver! Screwed again!! Don't the new Expys have nav? Are they black?

Eddie Bauer, Limiteds, and King Ranch Expeditions have navigation available as an option, touch screen jobber that comes with the latest and greatest Audiophile setup, I'm not sure if it's THX in an Expedition, but I know it is in a Navigator. I don't think it'll fit in an F150, head units are different sizes. It is black though, IIRC.

Heres the touch screen navi, cd, sat radio in my lincoln. I thought about taking it out and installing it in my truck and reporting it stolen.

Oh yea, the air condition seats would be a nice option on the f150 too.

Ford builds a great vehicle but they seem to lag behind in the bells and whistles department. Traction control althought a dynamic stability control would be better, Nav, cooled seats, and a more advacned premium sound system would all be good in my book. I meen audiophile is great but more speakers would be a good bragging right. Maybe 10 or so. Hey how bout a Keyless "fob". Maybe to expensive to be produced in a truck in this price range but having all that could boost sales perhaps.

It's not popular because it's expensive as hell...

But, I bet if dealers purchased more, there'd be more on the streets....

I can read the heck out of a map, be it a city map, or a military map. Gimmie an eight digit grid, and I'll put a shell in your back pocket...

But, I like toys too-
Everybody else is offering toys of some sort- get with the program Ford.... It was exceedingly stupid not to offer Navigation on the 500 and/or the Freestyle.
