Been there done that!
Or would pass them off to one of the newbie's
But it would depend on how slow it was that day.
If it was really slow and I couldn't find anyhting on the net to entertain myself with then I would humor myself with them for a while.

Microsoft is the Devil! 2000/2000pro/XP are just little better cover ups of the evil that lurks with in.

Actualy it was a series of flukes mainly a marketing fluke...
For the Melinium Edition, they told everyone that the newest OS was coming out and gave a release date for it. When it was due to be released then it wasn't quit ready yet. But the public (us) were demanding to get it. So they went ahead and threw it out here for us and tried to finish it through updates. Well that didnt work out so well. So they released 2000 as a new version which is actually the completed version of Mellinium. Notice that they are not jumpng the gun this time with the upcoming release of Long Horn. BUT.... Nobody is really wanting it yet, or saying that they have to have it. We are all pretty well happy with 2000 Pro or XP. Which they are basically the same program. So they are working on Long Horn now trying to perfect it and waiting for a demand to be built for it. But I'm afraid they may have a few more years first. Mean while Apple is perfecting thier operating system too. OSX Rocks, aside from the rather girlie type interface but then again 2000 Pro and XP are pretty girlie too.

You hit the nail on the head. They always release things to early. Windows 95 was three versions, before it was finished. 98 took two different versions. Three if you can't windows me. I use to hate to install all those drivers for windows 98. You'd sit there for an hour looking for the drivers cds.

My crappy four hundred dollar e-machine has been running ME since I got it several years ago. I haven't had a problem that I couldn't figure out myself. I've got the emergency boot floppy so that if things get that bad I can fix it. Last year I picked up a Toshiba lap top running XP home that has been nothing but problems. I can't figure out what to do. I'm basicly computer illiterate. For some reason when I call tech support I always get the dumb tech.

I just wish I could get XP figured out. I want to use my auto tap but I figure that it'll have issues. From what I've read the most likely culprit is the service pack 2. Got any insight on this one?

On my HP lap top with XP Pro I'm running Service pack two with no problems. As well as on mine and my wifes Frankenstien desktops and non of them are having troubles with the Service Pack.
So I dont know what the problem could be.

You might be more comfortable working on XP if you haven't already go in to Display Properties/Appearance and put it on Windows Classic style. Then the only real differences in the interface are that your Control Panel is in Start/Settings/Control Panel. Or by clicking on "Change Settings" in "My Computer". The other major one is that Scan Disk is no longer in system tools, you now have to open "My Computer" and right click on the drive then click on properties, then click on the tools tab. Everything else is pretty much in the same place.
