Who is your insurance carrier?

My lightning has been one of my cheapest to insure vehicles. Hell, my GTI is almost 2x as the lightning in insurance.

I just dumped Farmers (Yesterday) because of that...

The insurance on my Expedition & F-150 are cheaper than what the Civic would be because they said the trucks are less likely to encounter seriuos damage; but the car- in a similiar accident, would require significant repair expense, or replacement.

So, we're Progressive now...

They're right- it does pay to shop around, because thanks to them- my insurance to cover these three cars, is no $5.00/month cheaper than it was to insure my two trucks alone...

I hear ya man. I'm shopping around right now for a policy for my three vehicles. So far Esurance is looking good.

yea the ride is pretty decent. Less jarring than the L was. Also less nimble though. Steering is pretty vague.. Definitely liked the steering on the L better. But overall its fun. I'm in the process of making a short shifter for it (there are no kits on the market yet)

birdy, sorry to hear of your loss. How much did you sell the L for?
It's gotta suck to get beat by vehicles that you used to be able to beat with the L!

yeah i sold the L for 17k... And it does suck that a lot of cars I used to stomp can take me now...No limited slip either for me!! Thats the only thing i really don't like is the ability to NOT roast both the rears. There is potential though. with just 4.10s, intake, and catback a guy ran 14.3 at the track...

I like the chevy looks cool particualrly from the front end. Not a Lightling, but its nothing to frown about. I also like the 5-speed manual.

Agreed on the upside down light comment, but i think it's a nice looking truck never the less.

Enjoy your new ride!

Who told you that? Are you moving out of state and becoming a resident?

I retained coverage under my parents policy as a "part time" driver on my SCrew when I moved up here to Pennsylvania (from Florida) last year. For me to become self insured as the primary driver would have nearly tripled my rates. I even asked my agent if I needed to switch to a PA agent and get a different policy; and they said it would be no problem to keep my Florida insurance. They said any claims would be handled just like if I was travelling out of state in my truck.

I remember them saying if I registered in my truck in PA, I would probably have to get a PA policy. But I'm never going to register it here because of that whole yearly inspection crap...

I have State Farm, but I would assume the same is true with any other insurance...

The Colorado isn't a bad truck... but I'd hate to see someone lose a good L because of misinformation...

The Colorado is a great looking truck. You made the right choice. You can always improve the truck by getting aftermarket goodies.
