Oops, Bad Idea.

But Alejandro Dominguez proudly took office on Wednesday, saying he wasn't afraid of anything. Nine hours later, he was ambushed and killed by gunmen who fired three dozen times.

"President Vicente Fox's administration sent in 700 soldiers and federal agents in March to try to restore law and order."

It didn't work - send more.

Sucks to be him, but it also sucks to live in TX in that border area. Time to send in the troops Mr Fox and sweep the area clean. I can't believe they'd just let an entire town be taken over by drug runners - right on the US border.

They just need tighter gun control.

Hey do what Baltimore just did...a gun buy back program.

I feel sooooo much safer now.

Dominguez's violent death was the latest blow to Nuevo Laredo, a city across from Laredo, Texas, that has been crippled by a wave of drug violence. The city is on the front line of a turf battle between Mexico's two largest drug gangs, the Gulf and Juarez cartels. Since January, more than 60 people have been killed there, including several city police officers.
We are gonna end up at war with mexico.

Jamz, a question about Texas. The Minutemen want to go to the Texas border and do the same thing they did here in AZ but the Politicians are saying they don't want or need the Minutemen's help. I'm curious as to what the people think in Texas about this. Any idea?

Talking

The Minutemen may have been able to sit in their lawn chairs with their binoculars and radios and intimidate Pedro from trying to slip into California to pick bananas but, I don't think it will work with this.

"Breaker, Breaker....uhhhh I got three, yes three, Black Suburbans, no visable lights, approaching at a fast clip. You want I should Flag'em down?, Over."

"Uh, yeah that's a Affirmitive. And if they should give you any trouble remember you can use your flashlight to uh..., defend yourself, hehehe...and conk them once for me. Over."

Ok, caught up now.

I, personally, don't care who it is. Minutemen, Weekmen, whatever. Something needs to be done.

I remember when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton, we did a JTF with the DEA. We did a bunch of JTF's with them. We were monitoring the boarder from Mexico into Cali. At least twice a night a sensor went off somewhere during my post. On the first night, we (my company) busted a van with a ***** load of weed, the next night we (Bravo company) busted a group of 4 each had a back pack full of it. You would think they would get the idea and find another route or something.

I believe, it would be a great idea to make this a part of a new Marines training. A JTF (joint task force) with the DEA for a month before going to your first duty station, patrolling the US/Mexican border for smugglers, and illegal's. It would help with these types of problems, and give our Servicemen some training experience.

Not to mention, it was fun as hell.

Mexico's goverment is more corrupt than ours, drug money goes straight to the top. Being a Federalie is great because you can defraud whomever you want at will. Also if we just shot the drug runners (Like we should be doing) the war on drugs would be quickly over and that's not a good thing. It's become a cash cow and too much money changes hands, no one will want to give it up.

I think everyone is corrupt except me.
That's why I feel no guilt when I write them bad checks.
