and he played for both my favorite teams! Serious alzheimers moment when the Canucks let him go. Barry Pederson was such a steal...

Ya know Zap, I never could stand Cam Neely. Maybe it's because he was on Boston. The main reason I hated him was because he always laid a beating on my team, the Montreal Canadians. I will agree with you that he was what a hockey player should be. He definatly deserves to be in the hall of fame, but he is still the enemy to me. He was in the movie Dumb and Dumber too.

Hockey has gone way downhill the last few years I think. I quit watching a while back. When it was the Adams division was when I liked it.

I'll answer the joke (and a funny one) with a serious answer.

The Hall of Fame (located in beautiful downtown Toronto, just a few blocks from where I work) is owned and operated by a non-profit trust. The NHL has no direct control over it. They are partners only.

Although the NHL likes to think they control it (they also think they own the STanley Cup which they do not) the Hall of Fame marches to its own drummer.

ANd yes, they are open.

There has been a couple of bad events. The ones that bother me, in addition to Roy leaving, were when Lindros wouldn't play for Quebec, when Gary Bettmen (sp?) took over, and when teams started moving due to money issues. ex: Quebec, Hartford, Winnipeg.

I wish we could go back to the good old days...

Yup, they played hockey because they loved it (like us) and not for the money. Money has ruined the game.
