Talking FX4 one ... Z71 zero

Sorry Gabe, but the story must be told...

Took the supercrew on its first beach outing to Padre Island. Put it thorugh everything I couold find, and didnt get it hung but...

I did manage to stumble upon a Red Z71 that had gotten stuck....maybe burried is a better term. When I arrived, there was a CRV, a wrangler, and a blazer around him. I was told they all tried and nobody could get him out. This guy couldnt even turn his wheels. One frame rail was covered with sand. His exhaust had to be dug out.

So we hooked up. First pull led to a broken rope. Then we hooked up with a large tow rope. With a little tire spin he was out.

My wife, two kids and my mom were in the truck. When we left, my wife said we should have filmed that. I could just kick myself now. I had the digital camcorder in the passenger floorboard....It just never crossed my mind...

Anyways, chock one more up to Ford. And if you know a Gabe in Corpus Christi with a red Z71...tell him he shoulda bought a FORD!!!

Nice, but the roll could have been reversed if you got a little throttle-happy in the sand!

Ford Fleet sales rep here. You missed out on skid plates, rancho shocks, model specific grill, model specific rims, availability of the flow through center console floor ****, black interior, unique guage set, and decals on the sides.

You get alot more with the F-150 FX4. On the Super Duty it's just shocks, skid plates and decals.

Wonder what kind of difference those shocks make compared to a Lariat.

I've never been that enthralled with Ford factory shocks anyway. They all seem to really suck. Jittery, crappy ride and they wimp out when the truck is loaded. The first mod I made on my Lariat was to buy new shocks. I think I made it a week before I couldn't take it any more.

Thank you, I figured that. What about on the 97-03 F150s?

Ok, I think some may be miss led by what you said.

Skid plates - Option on my lariat and on any other.
Rancho Shocks - Only FX4.
Model specific grill - its the same on the XL, STX, and KR.
Model Specific Rims - Only FX4.
Availability of Flow through console - This is an option on all models that are Super Crews.
Black Interior - Dependent on exterior color not model.
Unique Gauges - FX4.
Decals - FX4.

I know you know what your talking about but the FX4 package is just that a package, the only two three things it has that can't be optioned on other models are the cheapest rancho shocks available, the gauges, and the stickers. Plus, you can't get auto climate on FX4. I just didn't want someone reading this to think everything you said was only available on the FX4. I'm not bashing, I was just clearing up what you said a little.

I forgot about the rims too. They are nice. And they can sell a truck all by themselves. Ask any Jeep dealer how many Rubicons they have sold, not because of what they can do, but because people like the rims better than the other jeeps.
