My Ibanez LP Copy. Serial number is H753636 (on the neck plate) which mean's it's a '75 model. I'm kind of curious if maybe the neck is from a different year than the serial number and body would indicate, as so few "lawsuit" style models were apparently made that year. I dunno. Sure is fun to play, though (when the pickups work).

I kinda play, here is the story: I played about 6 years ago for about 1 year. I then discovered computers and gave up. During my 1 year I bought my first guitar (some cheap Ibanez) and got my second for christmas. Its is a BC Rich Warlock (w/ widow head). Nothing special but it looks killer.

Now that I am deployed I figured Id start playing again so I bought a cheap Ibanez acoustic. If I get ok while Im over here Ill probably invest in another electric when I get home.

I play a Takamine EG40SC acoustic/electric and a Gibson SG limited edition. I'm just getting into the electric thing as of late. I'm more into the Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Goo Goo Dolls, etc. kind of stuff. However, I can play a mean Top Gun theme song rendition on the Gibson.

I went and looked at my serial. It's actually a 77 vintage.

I put alot of miles on this guitar. It was my main stage guitar as well as my practice axe until the frets just got too flat to truly enjoy. It'll still play, but rattles on a few frets. I've adjusted the action to compensate, but I just need to get it re-done. I took the pick guard off, and put a Gibson Dirty Finger pick up in the neck, but I have all the original hardware. I bought the guitar off the other guitarist in my old band, and he bought it brand new, so I know all the history of it. But I wouldn't sell it.

Since you all are throwing pictures on, here's mine.

Here's a pic or two of the Ovation Celebrity I play. It's really my Dad's, but he let's me call it mine since I play it all the time. He taught me at a young age most of the basic chords and bar chords. I've been playing off and on since I was five. lol. I just can't stick with it very long. It gets boring playing the same old crap all the time. But what I do know, I have it down pat.

They're great sounding guitars. I agree with your earlier comment that I haven't heard a Gibson LP that sounded better (but that may have to do with the school of thought about the wood in guitars settling or aging, I dunno how much stock to put into that). Could also be written down to the fact that Gibson's quality control sucks of late. The frets on mine (especially around the B and E strings from the 3-6th frets) are absolutely chewed the hell up, the front pickup doesn't make any sound at all. The usual stuff. It was a road guitar for whatever band the guy that gave it to me was in, so it's beat but still sounds good. I was given the guitar under the condition that I would never, ever sell it or trade it. It's too cool to get rid of and I can't afford to have it reconditioned, so it's a wall piece.

I have a cheap 7 piece CB kit that I bought so I could learn on a set that doesn't matter if I beat the snot out of. However, for the kind of music I want to play, I'll need years of practice. I can do any old KISS tunes, from Peter's days. But Lars, Scott Travis, so forth.....I'm dreaming.

SOOOOOOOOO, I bought a digital recording studio with fully programmable drums, and it's working out great. There's almost nothing I can't program into it, but it definately takes some personality out of the music from a feel standpoint. Sure beats the heck out of not having any at all though.

that has got to be the first song I ever learned to play on guitar. Then I started trying to learn "Lazy" from the same album (successfully, I might add... ) and that was a whole new ballgame!

Add one more bass player to the mix. I play a mid 80's Jazz bass through a SWR rig. Not sure how to post pictures (only been a member for about 15 minutes now) but my gear can be seen here: http://www.miggo.com/my_bass_guitar.htm
