Install window a/c in truck

Check out this link on how to install a house type window a/c in the cab of your truck.

http://www.nc4x4.com/forums/showthre...5&page=1&pp=10

I'll stick with the factory installed a/c.

Car forums from all over the country were checking in. So why did they close the thread? I was going to join just to give a shout out from here and a few others I belong to too.

That's not new by any means I remember seeing similar when I was a kid. New mounting location maybe, but definatly not new redneck enginuity.
Would have been easier and cheaper to install an OEM from a salvage yard so it blows my mind trying to figure out. WHY?

You turn the window unit on full blast and then turn factory a/c on full blast. The window unit will kill it... Plus when the window unit goes out all you have to do is replace it....

A wood burning stove would be a nice addition for those cold winter months.

He could use the cardboard duct work and use it as a template for some sheet metal ducts. Then switch the A/C unit for the stove as the season change. Might be a pain in spring and fall when the mornings are cool but gets rather warm in the day.

He should have put a small generator in the bed to power it. Then he could keep a fridge in the cab to keep his beer cold.

I would think that Inverter would cost more then getting the factory AC replaced. It wouldn't be so bad if you had to sleep in your truck all the time, instead of having to idle all night just pull up to an outlet.
