RV Recommendations

I am contemplating getting a camping trailer of some type but, don't know jack about them, so your input/recommendations would be appreciated. First off, I am looking to spend around $10K. It should sleep 4-6 people and the more toys it comes with, the better. At least a stove, shower/bath, a/c, heat etc. I'm not convinced I am interested in a fifth wheel because I don't really want to invest in the whole setup for that. I don't really care for the looks of the pop ups but, I have seen some really nice ones and would definitely consider one. Just based on what I've seen on the internet, I am leaning towards just a regular travel trailer that is fully enclosed and towed behind a truck without the aid of a fifth wheel. These are just some of my initial feelings and all recommendations will be considered/appreciated. I'm looking for Brand Name recommendations and/or length/type suggestions. Thanks.

Are you looking for new or slightly used? $10k is entry level for a new 18'-20' (in louisiana) something with plenty of storage, light weight, most rv's now days are self contained, bathroom, stove, frige, water heater, furnace, usually everything runs on 12v or propane except A/C, if you chose that option,
look for something thats well constructed, but light weight. most new models have aluminum frames with fiberglass skin and rubber roof.
also look for a interior floor plan that fits your needs/likes.
Fleetwood, jayco are good R/V's. from what I have seen the off brands are sometimes built by the big names.
personally I wouldn't go bigger than 24'. It's just me and my wife and my 18' "play-mor" works just great for us.
good luck. now go buy it,LOL

There are a lot of people who have gone through this.
You can buy one for $10K from someone who typed those same words two years ago except the number they typed was $20k.
Used maybe five times.

Change the number from 1-5 to see all shots.

I picked up this 2000 27' Gulfstream Innsbruck in April and used it the first time this weekend. Got a new awning on it and all the WD hitch and sway bar thrown in also.
Out the door for a little less than $10k. Just start out your discussions with the sales people that you are just shopping. I made up my mind that I was not getting interested in a deal until I had the salesman hooked. I made it out to my truck 3 times over as many days when they would come out and say the manager changed his mind and they could meet my demands....

Just make sure of what weight your tow vehicle can pull, and go from there. Don't let a salesman tell you what the truck can pull, remember, they are only wanting a sale!

Either one, but I imagine I could get a better deal on a used one.

Looking to spend less than 10K or less also.. way less. The more way less the better. I've been browsing E-bay for a week or two, going to go look at a couple local indidules that have thoiers for sale tomarrow and the local RV Lot too.

Newmar makes some good quality rigs, but they are a little higher up in the price range. The big trend now is the 3+ slides. Jayco makes a nice 3 slide / 28' 5th wheels for $20,000 and works great with an amazing amount of room for the price. A lot of the bigger Newmar's or Travel Supreme, Carriage.. will start costing $35,00 +

Whatever you go with, you will have fun. But expect to visit the dealer a few times to work out all the warrenty items. From electrical problems, to cabnets, plumbing, slide outs... You name it, they have had to fix it.
