OK IT People !

Is there anyone here that know how the he!! to figure out licensing on software products.

I've already spent several hours this week trying to figure out a new license renewal for backup software..

Could they make their lingo any more confusing !!!!!!!

To all the big software vendors out there.. Right the crap in freaking english !!!!!!

 

Pretty simple, call them, tell them what you want, fall off your chair when you hear the price, send a check, get your licenses. Last time I ordered Veritas from Dell, I spent like 20k and got papers with license numbers, I didn;t even get a CD, I had to downlaod the trial version.

 

and they wonder why pirated software comes up with random product authorization code generators

 

Its a freakin nightmare. I don't even bother. I have an account rep from a software vendor who knows my clients counts. I call him tell him I need this for this many servers and this many clients, and I get a nice envelop with a paper with the number of CALS I need. Glad I ain't paying for it.
