Memorial Day

I'd like to take the time here while its on my mind and so close at hand to thank all the Veterans on this site for what they gave for the freedoms of this country.
I am retired Army and a Veterans Representative here in the state of Tennessee and my time right now is filled with setting up and running ceremonies so as to not forget all of you here that are Veterans, I wish you all the safest Memorial Day.

God Bless You All. (Nightranger) ( Follow Me )

A salute to all the men and women of our military.

And as the wife of a service member, I'd like to thank the families of those folks. The service men and women are the ones in harms way, true enough. But the families have a pretty hard time of it too, taking care of all the trivial domestic duties while never knowing for certain if their spouse will return unharmed...its a pretty tough job.

God Bless them all

Thumbs up

As retired military, Thanks! Also would like to offer my own thanks to those who are still serving and to those who stood beside me and before me as well as there family's. My son is now serving and I couldnt be prouder or more worried. The shoe is now on the other foot and it gives me a much clearer picture of what the family's go through.

I just wanted to add this:

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

No, Freedom Isn't Free
-Author Unknown

I watched the flag pass by one day.
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease.
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil?
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea?
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.

I heard the sound of taps one night,
When everything was still
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.

Being in the military is the thing I am proudest of in my life.

To all that are still serving I say stay safe, god bless, and Thank You.

To all that have died for our great country....God bless and you will not be forgotten.

To all that have served in war and peace your service is greatly appreciated. No matter the situation you have served in, anytime you put that uniform on you have done a service for America few will do and fewer will ever understand.

To all that have gone missing or have been prisoners of war, you my brothers and sisters will not be forgotten.

NEVER FORGET THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE GIVEN US FREEDOMS NO OTHER COUNTRY HAS EVER HAD.

HOOOYAHH!

a moment of silence.
