Back When... ?

Okay, I know there are some "experienced" folks in here, and I was just curious if you could help me?

Tim Mcgraw's song Back When starts out:
"Don't you remember
The fizz in a pepper
Peanuts in a bottle
At ten, two and four"

Well, my buddy's dad explained the peanuts in a bottle many years ago, and I still think it's odd... but I'm having trouble figuring out ten, two and four... I'm asuming the "fizz in a pepper" is Dr. Pepper, but I'm probably wrong...

anyone here know?

"experienced?" very P.C. Closer. I remember the 10 2 4 thing as being the logo or emblem etc on the Dr Pepper bottle. Anyone else?

Years ago Dr. Pepper bottles had a label (actually painted on the bottle) that had a 10,2, and 4 in a semicircle on the neck of the bottle. They actually used to advertise with that saying " time is right at 10, 2 or 4".

Got this from:can't verify the validity of the info

Dr. Pepper was formulated by a drugest that advertised that drinking the carbonated drink aided digestion. For best results, you were to drink it at 10-2-4. Keep in mind that the drinks were only 6 oz. then.

You're correct 10, 2, 4 are the times of the day that they used to say you needed a pick me up. I grew up in Waco, Tx the birth place of DR. Pepper. It was a part of their logo for a very long time.
I am a Dr. Pepper drinker over any other soft drink.

Pepper is great but can't touch a good ole Mountain Dew.

I like a Dew at times, but I have a pepper every day at lunch and when I am pooped from yard work(GAG) or rubbing on my truck. A Pepper over crushed ice really picks me up.

Well here is my input to "What goes with DP"

When I get a bad flu bug, you know fever, chills, everything hurts-

boil a can of DP with a few slices of lemon. Add some good old Jack Daniels to taste. Drink warm. It goes down real nice and smooth and is soothing to a sore throat. Tastes far greater than warm tea. Also the after affect helps with pain and soreness.

Works every time boys!

Talking

You haven't tried peanuts and coca-cola? Mmmm... That's what it's talking about.

Back when a hoe was a hoe,
A coke was a coke,
And crack was what you were doing,
when you were crackin' jokes.
Back when a screw was a screw,
The wind was all that blew,
And when you said you were down with that,
It meant you had the flu.
I miss back when,
I miss back when.

Who cares???

Tim Mcgraw sucks, all of the songs that he does anymore sound wussie and pretty much suck. I liked the old Tim songs like "Indian Outlaw." Anymore if a Tim Mcgraw song the radio station is changed as fast as possible. Now all he does is whine about stupid crap. For god's sake, he gets to do everything that we dream about with Faith Hill. If that does not make you happy then you have major problems.

Tim Mcgraw = washed up, has been

Joe
