Beat me to it Jamz...
Ign.com has great coverage and the you can download the unveiling video.
I might have to buy it. I only have the Gamecube right now but I might buy 2 of the 3 new gen systems.

Hmmm... looks pretty cool.
My only complaint is that the case is too new age, funky, big... I like the one I have now, because it fits nicely in my cabinet...
I haven't seen a price yet, but I'm sure it will keep me away from them for awhile...
I really need to upgrade my TV before I upgrade my video games...
My buddy just got engaged, and when she got the ring on her finger she went out and bought him a new 52" TV to say thanks... There's a chance I might be buying a ring this summer, but I have a feeling my Xbox won't be getting a new TV...

OK.
I just watched the unveiling video....I'm amazed. Talk about one heck of a sweeeeeeet console. Amazing.
Case really isnt that big...if you watch the video on IGN, it is no bigger then the PS2, and the options in that thing - DAMN.................

It looks smaller and slick.
Xbox live out of the box, Hi Def, Sur Sound, all standard. USB connectivity for mp3 players, tons of stuff and sick hardware.
Gotta say it looks tough....wonder how Sony and Nintendo are going to match this. To late for a redesign they better have their acts together.

BUT, if the cell chip lives up to the hype, I think the PS3 will hang in there. NINTENDO, like I mentioned the other day, better pull a rabbit out of there hat.

This kind of bugs me... they drive the price up by including all this extra stuff... Soon I'll be buying my Playstation Kitchen Edition III ( or PKE3 as the kids will call it) with microwave/refrigerator/MP3 player/DVD player and dish washer all rolled into one...
I just want a kick *** game system. It's just like my phone I call people with it, that's all I need...
Great it will cook you breakfast and turn the light off when you leave, but could you offer a stripped down version that will let me play video games, and still have money left over for car parts?

I agree partially. You would only see a nominal drop in cost for dropping the extras which I can only figure are the DVD player and the MP3 hookup.
Not enough people would care about a $50 drop. Saves putting a DVD player in the kids room too.

True statement closer.
All the extra crap they can have. If I want all that...I have a PC (sorda). If I wanna watch a movie, I have a DVD player. Basically a console should be...just that-a console. Online play is neat, but once again, I have a PC.
But, I like the way it looks and the size. The menu's look cool. I think it's an amazing looking system. I agree all the extas are not needed. I wanna play games. I want a powerful console, and I want a console with fast or NO load times.....looks like this might be able to do it.
I think its amazing. The technology in the console is what has me.

Pre-E3 2005: Breaking: Revolution Details
Sleek system to play standard DVDs, says Nintendo. More inside.
by Matt Casamassina
May 12, 2005 - The Electronics Entertainment Expo 2005 is still days away, but that hasn't stopped Microsoft from debuting its Xbox 360 console on MTV. And now Nintendo has followed suit, revealing some new, meaty details about its next-generation console, codenamed Revolution.
In a recent New York Times article, Nintendo of America's vice president of corporate affairs Perrin Kaplan describes the console as "very, very sleek." The system, which is reportedly tiny, will stand horizontally. Its width will reportedly be no more than three DVD cases stacked flatly on each other, or slightly more than an inch. That makes the console theoretically smaller than Apple's recently released Mac Mini computer.
Although Nintendo has historically selected proprietary media formats, such as the GameCube Optical Disc, for its platforms, the publisher is with Revolution opting for a more standardized medium. The new console will play standard DVD media, according to the company. Nintendo has not yet revealed if Revolution will as a result be able to play Hollywood movies on DVD, but that seems very likely at this point.
At the Game Developers' Conference in March, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said that Revolution would offer Wi-Fi online connections out of the box and would be backward compatible with GameCube, or able to play GCN software.
According to recent information, Revolution will also be able to play high-definition games and regularly go online.
Finally -- something of a no-brainer given the popularity of the Wave Bird pads -- Revolution's still-secret controller will be completely wireless. Controllers for Microsoft's Xbox 360 are also wireless. Upon hearing this news, puppies everywhere let out a collective cry.
