Forgive me... I want a new Saturn...

I've always thought the Miatas were cool cars, just never could see myself in one. My GF was even thinking about getting a late model Miata which was cool with me. I've driven them, and really like them... I love little 2 seater convertibles like that...

Well, I'm sure you've all heard about the Solstice from Pontiac. I was very excited about it, but it's just not quite right... Something about the rounded front end I don't like... Well, Saturn has ended any debate for me. If I could/would get a new toy this would be it... In fact the GF's Civic will be paid off when this comes out, so maybe I can talk her into getting one...

There's talk of supercharged or turbo version a year or two down the line, so maybe even better...

Again, I just think this is so cool... 2 seats, 5-spd, convertible, rear drive, probably great on gas... I really want a motorcycle, but this could be almost as good and driven in any weather if needed...

Yes- that have that- AND a new sedancoming out, that kinda looks like an Acura TL (The previously replaced body-style), only from teh pics it seems like it may be wider than the older TL was...

That roadster above, in my opinion, out-classes the Pontiac Solstice.. Truly, sax on wheels....

See this is what I was talking about in the last thread I posted about, for some reason if its not fast that automatically turns a good portion of potential buyers off.

I think it will be a great car, do exactly what closer wants. Quick, fun to drive and good on gas. My sister has a miata, and I am always telling her to get a turbo but she likes it as is. Its not very fast but its good for back roads, and autocross events.

If someone wanted a fast convert they would get a Z06 or stang. Just my opinion though

I personaly don't like cars that are all show and no go! OK I am at a light in a nice looking car, some jackass in a POS pulls up beside me, hmmm I wish I could leave him in the dust ..but no My nice looking car just got smoked by a 1988 Buick LeSabre .. not cool.. cars like that need some *****! Another thing I never could understand why people would buy a Camaro or a Trans Am with a six cylinder in it! Just my opinion, to each his own.

A small car with a 4cyl is fast enough for me. Just as Charlie said. It would be a backroads/roadtrip cruiser, fun on the twisties, which there are some good roads for that not far from here... I'm not a stoplight dragster...

My Stang will still be there when I need it... and even though it's not the fastest car on the road it will still smoke most of the cars around here... but to me it's more of a thrill to be able to smoke some idiot from a stop light, but watch them make a fool of themselves as I calmly ignore them...

Going along with Charlie's comments here... I'll be digging into the Belvedere engine before much longer (and the car itself should be going to the body shop around August, I hope), and I've told several people my plans, and they just get all excited like I'm doing something horribly wrong by not dropping in the 440. I'll be putting back the original 318 with a little hotter cam and a 4 barrel. No one seems to understand the idea of a convertible cruiser... I have no intentions of ever racing this car, ever!

I do plan on building a hotter 318 once the car is back on the road, but I want to keep it a 318... especially since that's usually the first thing to go on most Mopars. and they're great engines, and have great potential... Just most people scrap them for a something bigger...
