Hey Green98!

I read a thread about you breaking off your radiator drain plug. I just broke mine off to. lol! I came in and did a search to see if this has happened to anybody else, and saw your thread. I was using a 3/4" socket, instead of the the allen wrench. I'm a numbnut I know...Man, I didn't even see the place for an allen wrench until I broke the head off the plastic bolt. NOW, I know! haha! Where'd you find a replacement if you don't mind?

Edited: Never mind I got Advance Auto to order me one.

Here's a few pics.

That's a lesson learned the hard way. I posted this so ya'll can learn from my mistake. DON'T USE A RATCHET ON YOUR RADIATOR DRAIN PLUG!

I finally got the replacement drain plug in today, and filled the radiator with anti-freeze. Getting those air bubbles out of the cooling system is a biotch. I had no heat coming out the vents for a little while, but I knew it was an air bubble in the system. My engine would overheat when I drove it. But I kept pulling off the road (it only overheated a little) and got out and slowly opened the reservior cap to let the air escape. After about 5 miles, all the air had worked its way out and the temp gauge went back to normal. I had to top the coolant off a little bit though. All is well again. I can't wait to try these new brakes out.

Naww, aint drunk tonight...havnt been in a while.
Peace--that was a pain in the a$$ when i did that to my truck...never saw the opening for the allen wrench
Finals finished up well, finished up with about a 2.8 for the semester....wanted a 3.0 but oh well. Before i headed back to Mississippi for the summer, i stopped off in Columbia and spent a couple evenings with the lady friend....man im going to miss her so much this summer, its crazy. I almost wish school would start here in a couple weeks lol! I plan on making a couple trips back to
Fulton to see all the friends before August comes around.

I started work today for a big engineering/construction company here in Tupelo working 7-5 MWF, cutting off at lunch on friday. Im going to be doing alot of landscaping work but ill be with the crews a couple times a week. Also, tomorrow Im interviewing for a server position at a very popular restaurant here in town working from 6pm-12 midnight. Hopefullly Ill get that.

Looking forward to a nice, "sobering up and going to church" summer with the family. Going to catch up on some fishin' with the old man, hang out with my sis and her friends and help momma with the chores.
Ill try to post once a day, not 40-50 times a day like i do when im at school......i swear this site has a direct negative coorelation to my grades....

Peace for now!

Good for you man. Your making the right decisions. Good luck with the jobs. And the family and your lady friend.

About the drain plug, I about ***** a brick when I broke that sucker off. Thoughts went through my head about having to pull the whole frikken radiator out to get the plug out. lol!
I stuck my head under there and saw that where it broke, it still left a deep enough place to fit the allen wrench. If it broke it off any further, I'd be SOL. But it came out alright.
I bought a black twist on type plug at Advance for about 5 bucks. Problem solved. Me and my Dad are doing the brakes next Saturday. He works 14 hours a day 6 days a week, with every other Saturday off. So I get to spend some time with him working on the truck for a change.

Good luck with you and yours Green98!
