Exclamation General ranting & ?? about GM arbitration.....

First off - Sorry if this post comes off as whining...

I've been dealing with mysterious problems involving my 04 Chevy Colorado for almost a year now. During this time, it's been back to the dealer 9 times, 10 counting the appointment I have this coming Tuesday for another appearance of the check engine light. I won't get into the details of everything thats happened since I bought this POS, but to sum it up, it's been one electrical failure after another since day one.

Back in mid March, I contacted an attorney to see if I would quailify under PA's lemon law. The firm I contacted agreed that I had a pretty strong case and decided to take it. I was told that it would be 30 to 45 days to schedule a date in the court system. Fine. I've dealt with this for almost a year, what's another month or so.

I emailed my attorney this week and asked for a status update regarding my case. The firm's response was I have an arbitration date set - NOVEMBER 22, 2005!! WTF is that?

Has anyone else out there have experience dealing with GM on lemon law cases? Just wondering if it's normal to see that type of lag between the complaint filing and actual arbitration hearing. The attorney claims it's because of GM's backlog of cases, and since my issues are not safety related, my case gets thrown to the end of the list.

BTW - When I joined this forum back in 01, I owned a 97 F-150. Soon after that I had a 99' F-150. Two of the best vehicles I've ever owned. I think combined they had 3 trips for service over a 6 year period. I know for sure that once this ordeal is over, my next stop will be to the local Ford dealer!

Again - Sorry if this post seems like a big whine-fest. Just needed somewhere to vent a little before I end up with a GM induced ulcer.

You should've never gotten a lawyer involved. With your repair history, arbitation between you an GM should have been it.

Yeah - I'm starting to realize that myself. Oh well. Not much I can do about it now....

Looking back, I wish I would have known more about how the whole process works. This is the first, and hopefully the last time I've had this type of problem with a vehicle.

That's what I get for leaving the brand I've driven since the day I got my licence.
