Question Old School Cold Air Intake ?

I thought somebody on this board might have an answer to my problem. I have a chevy 350 with a highrise edelbrock intake and I was wanting to get a dual duct intake system on it instead of how it pulls the air off the top the the engine now with the round chrome open filter. Anyone seen this setup for sale anywhere? If need be I will fabricate my own setup but it would be nice to buy a drop in unit. Thanks in advance!!!
BTW. the 350 is tucked inside my 1969 chevelle.

It must be nice.

Let me know how it turns out. I wish I could be of help, but I just like cars.

A dual duct for your manifold? I've only seen those for FI engines. I've seen them in car magazines, but I forgot who makes em. Don't know if they make them for carbed vehicles.

I got the idea from FI cars, seems like it would work well in that hot engine compartment, to pull air from low in the front. The biggest hurdle will be making it look good and not like a$$. I guess I could also try and find a cowl induction hood and go that route.

There has to be one out there somewhere. Check the internet, car mags, truck mags, go to swap meets, maybe have someone who works with fiberglass fab you one up? I'll help you look on the internet and check a few of my old mags to see if I can find anything. I'll be sure to let you know if I do.

Mike99a I have seen an ad for that very type intake in the back of Car Craft or Hot Rod or one of those. I subscribe to both and its in there every month. Old style round air cleaner with a solid top and two snorkels you can run down to bumper etc. Grab a mag and see if you can find it...sorry but I dont remember the company name but the ad shows a good pic of it.

In '85, the 5.0 throttle body injected Mustang had a dual snorkle air cleaner. They looked good, and I believe the top was aluminum. I'm not sure what other years used that set up, but maybe you could get one to work.

Still no pics Mike.

I am doing my best to NOT drive you insane with that question, but I'm anxious to see it.
