What happened to Bill Maher
What happened to Bill Maher
I love his HBO show, but I remember when he had Politically Incorrect on one of the networks, and all of a sudden, he got canned..
I never found out why..
Does anyone know what he said, or what he did???

he said the 9/11 hijackers weere heroes not cowards. He said that you must be heroic to give your life to your cause. A coward would not have boarded the airplane. They weren't heroes to us, but they were heroes to Muslims that hate America.
And thats when they fired him.

what really makes him a dumba$$ is saying that right after 9/11 when everyone was anti-muslim. To say ANYTHING remotely resembling support for them was a ticket to the unemployment line.

Yeah, his show on HBO rocks, and- while I don't share his beliefs on everything, the show is funny, and serious- and it's cool to see those panel guests come on his show and let their hair down- and get real for a minute...
I kept waiting to hear Leslie Stahl say the "F" word... She maintained her professionalism though...
The last episode I saw, he invited conservatists to come to his show. He said he'd gotten a lot of hate mail from them, but none would come to the show to challenge his opinions. If any show up, it's supposed to happen soon..
We'll see...

The actual quote was:
"Staying in the airplane when it hits the building, say what you want about it, it's not cowardly."
Calling them cowardly, in Maher's opinion, attached a connotation of rationality to the terrorists. He thought the terrorists were insane; not rational.

Hmm, kind of like Sean Hannity, Anne Coulter, Michael Savage and Gordon Liddy. It's a two way street.

Dogmatic characters don't impress me regardless of which side of the aisle they are on.
