I'm here Jamzwayne!

Sorry bro, I got so far behind BSing on F150online that I had to go into work today to get caught up...

Looking on the bright side though, at least I got some OT!

Just kidding; sorry, but I had to say that because that crap happens all the time. (Good people get whacked, while people that aren't as good, get let go. ) Man, I have sweat some serious bullets because we've had layoffs galore. I've seen a lot of 10, 15, 20 year people get the axe. The thing about layoffs is that you never know if it's money-driven or performance driven...

While it's true, I'm on here a lot- my job affords me that luxury, why? Because I stay on top of my s**t, and I probably put in 10-12 hours a day. Up late and in the wee hours making sure my projects turn-up as they should. On the day to day activities, it's peaks & valleys. Some days it would be more exciting watching grass grow, and other days I walk in at 7:30, and when I get a chance to come up for air, it's 2:00 PM. As much as I love chatting/debating/laughing/and joking on this board, when it's work time, it's time to work.

Bad for me though, I'm salaried. So, no matter if I work 20 hours, or 60 in a week, my paycheck is the same...

Month, after month, after month, after month....

PS- I thought Henry Ford created the concept of the 5-day/40-hour work week, ie (Weekends)

I admit, I didn't research this, but I thought I read it somewhere- at some point...

Ford will have to build top quality products at very competitive prices in order to compete with companies like Toyota and Nissan. It is possible to do just a matter of top management figuring it out before it’s too late.

I have to disagree with this statement. Have you been over to any of these forums and spent some time reading about these "top quality" vehicles? They suffer from many build and engineering problems just like Ford does.

Sure there are problems.. That's what forums are for- for people to log on and b*tch about what's wrong with his/her vehicle..

However, I'd be willing to bet a #2 value meal at Wendy's that there are fewer problems for 100 vehicles sold by Japan's big 5; than from our big three, er two...

If GM/Ford invested in at least one or two kick a$$ cars like they do in the truck line; GM & Ford wouldn't be in danger of becoming a subsidiary of Toyota...

Motor Trend recently reported that Topyota PROFITED $16 Bilion dollars last year....

Enough money to buy GM outright- if they so desired...

Who wouldda thunk this day would ever come...?

Sure, I love Japanese vehicles, but I get on here and talk s**t because I WANT America to win.... I want us to build better cars & trucks, and have better reliability and resale value..... we just aren't....

We do trucks very well- that's not uncommon to hear with our trucks...

The only sars I ever hear that about is/was the Geo Prism & Geo Metro; both of which were sourced from Toyota.

I have a co-worker still rolling a 1994 Gran Prix. It's hit her up for thousands at times (tranny, this & that) but, it still looks good...

She said she'd rather pay out her a$$ when something breaks than make a monthly car note...

We also do cars very well case in point my wife's 92 thunderbird went well over 176,000 miles and the exhaust was still original. The only thing that was done over the years was brakes and front end parts, tune up and an alternator. Now she drives a 96 explorer with over 166,000 miles and while i did have to replace the tranny last year (due to her getting stuck off the road during a snow storm and burning it up) the truck continues to run great with little problems and not even any rust. mmm seems to me that my sons honda accord has been in the shop and man the cash they charge to repair this car is way over the top. Its got a whole 56,000 and needed new head gasket. mmmm go figure...

Oh, wait you said Unions... I don't know anything about unions... Why didn't you say something about onions?
I like onions too! Raw or cooked, on a burger or in a salad. I even have a recipe for an onion pie that is pretty yummy!

Oh and I don't know a thing about unions either, so I'm keeping my nosey nose out of this one!

Honda will tell you right out the gate that if you fail to get the recommended 30,000 mile service for valve adjustment- this very thing you mentioned can happen, along with other things.

But, if you have your car services, and the valves adjusted as they recommend- and they still fail- then Honda will repair the engine, free.....

At least, that's what they told us when we had our Accord.

Of all the cars we traded, that's one I wish we'd kept....

A man at our church & his family is rolling it now.. It still has our rims on it!!!

That's the only thing that hurts about trading a car- when you see it again; especially if the next person doesn't take care of it like you did...

Valve adjustment? Who gets valve adjustments anymore and who would build an engine that required it in 2005? :o

I'm talking pre- 2005.

I haven't had a Honda in my driveway since 1997. Well, not my own Honda anyway... Sis still drives one, and loves it.
