Question Loctite

If I have to remove the bolt that i put red loctite on, how do I do it? Loctite was recommened my the manufacture and I want to change the bolt. Any help?

Easy, use a wrench. JK. The Loctite is designed to prevent the bolt from loosening, but it doesn't weld itself to anything. Normal hand tools should be all that's needed to break it loose.

Most of the time you will need to heat up the red locktite in order to remove a bolt. The red is the strongest formula. Good luck!

Red and green are the strongest and usually require heat to remove. Blue will come apart with hand tools.

According to Loctite, heat is required to loosen fasteners after the red is applied. Just for the record, I've used nothing but red on anything, and have never had to use heat to break them loose. They were tight, and cracked loose like a main bearing cap bolt on an old motor, but not tight enough to require heat.
