Spark Plug blow-out anyone else get an email from a lawyer?

I got this email from an attorney today. I assume he got my email address from the thread here. Anyone else get this email?

I saw your posts on the web about spark plugs blowing out in Ford models. I have a lawsuit pending against Ford that seeks to compel issuence of a TSB to the dealers, a recall, and reopening of warranty claims. We are at the point where we have to convince the court that the problem is widespread by presenting a large number of affidavits from Ford owners. Would you or anyone you know be willing to give us one? If so, please give me your telephone number and the best time to call you, or contact me using the number below.

Thank you for considering this.

Sounds phoney to me. I would never call someone who gave his number in an email as crooks could route that call to some foreign country and then you would get stuck paying the high phone bill. Also never give your phone number to someone in an email.

It could be real, but I would take all the precautions. Take the lawyer's name and call the city where he is listed at and find out if he exists. If there was no city listed, then it may be phoney. Besides most lawyers would not send these kinds of things out over email anyways. They would use regular mail.

It wouldn't hurt anything to call them and give them your name and addy if it sounds legit. Obviously they dont need you SS # or bank account #'s.

Okay, I called he is legit. He is emailing me a form to fill out as to what cylinder / vehicle model / miles / year / repair cost / etc.

I think it would be a good idea to make a sticky thread with his contact info. Right now he is gathering info to see if this is worth while.... can he find enough people out there to warrant a class action suit.

I too got the email. I remember posting about my blown plus and this attorney posted about fileing a lawsuit. His post was later removed by the mods. I am going to call him and make an affidavit.

Its a problem and ford should fix it. If they need to be sued to make them fix it, then I am willing to help. My plug should have never blown out. I did because of something ford did. A design flaw or assembly problems. If I can get some cash back then that's cool with me.
But, If my plug never blew out I would not have found this site.

Gentlemen:

As you may recall, a few months ago there was an 'ANNOUNCEMENT' within every forum here at f150online.com stating that information had been subpoenaed. Unfortunately, to the legal nature of the item, Steve was bound by law to provide some information to an outside source.

While I'm not a paid representative of this site and thus, cannot speak on behalf of the owner of this site, I have a strong feeling that we're seeing the result of the aforementioned subpoena.

The specific case (that we were subpoena'ed on) was Gulliher vs. Ford. I have renewed the announcement for more information.

Could you kindly forward me the email from the lawyer about the possible class action. Thanks. chainsawthereturn@hotmail.com.

Unfortunately, lawsuits are our only means of regulating large corporations in this country. We do not have sufficient governmental oversight and the regulation is left to market forces, which includes lawsuits or the treat thereof.

If he sues, you will get a couple hundred bucks if that, the lawyer will get a mil or so if he gets enough people signed up and Fords insurance foots the bill.
The cost of the law suit gets added to the next model year in the way of a possible price increase.
This problem has been corrected, it was the older 5.4. So sueing to alert Ford of the trouble is a dead issue.
I guess it you are doing it to teach them a lesson dont buy another Ford, and that way your not just padding some lawyers pockets.
Maybe I should join, they havent blow yet but I could get the money now so incase they do.

Sled...
