That's an extreme close up to see the Harley Davidson "watermark" on the stripe.
The E 1 is part of "SINCE 1903" which was founding date of HD, i.e 100 years.
2003 was the F series 50th anniversary, hence the marketing tie up.
Ahh, yeah. Also Ford started in 1903...

I can get one here for Euro 37,500 incl. taxes. ($45,750)
2003 Black Harley F-150
12000 km (7500 miles)

Adam, how is your truck doing.
Are there any problems reported on this model.
What is your mpg?

The engine is the same as the Lightning except a different pulley, am I right?

On idle, the engine is smooth?

I have never driven a supercharged vehicle but I was wondering if your hear constantly that supercharger whine, even at cruising?

I am not saying I am going to buy it but some background info wouldn't hurt.

Hi CJ,

The truck is great. I love it and thoroughly recommend it over the standard truck.
The 2003 model is the one to go for because
a) It's the 2003 Anniversary model with the special badges and interior.
b) Ford finally fixed the spark plug blowout problem by putting 9 threads in the cylinder head instead of 4.

The difference in the engine is that the Harley has a slightly larger upper pulley compared to the Lightning and a less aggresive tune. The HD is 340bhp compared to the L 380 bhp. Of course, you can swap the parts very easily for more performance.

I have checked the Ford database and there are zero recalls for the 2003 model.
The cruise control switch fire problems are not supposed to be an issue with this model year.
My mpg (with US Gallons -3.8 L) are approximately 12 - 15 around the city and approx 17 on a steady run. That's with the cruise control set to 70mph.
I do have a hard bed cover which is supposed to make a little difference.
If you are hard on the throttle, those figures come down a lot to single figures.
I rented a 5.4 Supercrew last year and the gas figures were no better than mine.

Under normal driving, you cannot hear the supercharger. Only when you plant the gas pedal do you hear it which is actually quite addictive and not good for the gas milage.

As for the idle, it's the same as yours is when we tried it in Meerkirk. These engines do not idle smoothly although it doesn't bother me.

That price sounds pretty good.
If I imported a $30,000 truck into England and paid the taxes, it would be about the same price.

If you need more specific info, there's lots over at the owners club www.nhtoc.com

Go on buy it

Hey Adam,

Are you in the market for a sig yet? It's a good way to show off that Harley, and I already have some ideas in my head.

Let me know.

Thanks for the info.
Still a lot of money and I don't expect to get much in return for my old truck although she is as good as new.
I will have a peek how she looks, next week I think.

Yes please. I suppose the comedy badger should be retired.

Lets see what you have in mind.

CJ, if you want your old truck advertised over in the UK, ket me know.
No problems importing over here and you might as well get a few Euros for it while they are still worth something

This is what I have so far. Now, I need your help making it all about you. What changes would you make and/or what would you add? I took the camper off...Want it on? Want me to use a different picture of your truck? You call it bud, and I will do my best.

I also tried to add your little badger, but it kicked my butt.

Jamz, pretty cool.

Ok, I like the camper top off as that's how it is now.

The Red in the Union Flag is a little washed out and Pink. Can you make it redder? Also, on the flag front, I think it would be cool to have the Union Flag merged with the Stars and Stripes as I live in both worlds and I'm a half-breed anyway

Could you just change the name to Adam? Then I can use the sig on two other boards. I think everyone will know it's me here. Not sure about the red for the script although the font is fine. Try black and see how it looks.

Last of all, if you can bring the harley badge up and to the left a bit, that would be perfect.

The badger can go - he is retired now
