Think 7 videos monitors is enough?

I saw an Escalade tonight that had 7 video monitors in his vehicle. This one was a black Escalade with those spinners on it. There was one of the real large monitors that hangs from the ceiling, 2 monitors on the back of the fron seats, 2 more monitors on the back of the middle seats, and then there were the 2 illegal monitors on each sun visor in the front, for a total of 7 monitors. I know at least here in Florida, you can't have any monitors located where the driver can see it, and he had 2 like that.

Why would anyone need that many monitors in a vehicle? Maybe 1 or 2, but 7? I find that they are a distraction to other drivers, especially the big monitors.

I think that's true in most states... But, people still do it.

My cousin had a Caprice classic with 5 screens in it. One big one (headliner) one on each headrest, on on the passanger visor, and one in teh dash (That won't work unless car is in Park).

If ou got the $, and installer will install it for you. Illegal or not.

I saw an Escalade or Yukon Danali- I can't remember, with monitors on the REAR SEAT (3rd row)headrests.... I guess that was so those of us approaching from behind, coul dsee what he was watching...

I saw an Expedition the other night that had 3 moitors in it. Two in the front headrest and one in the ceiling for the third row seating. The funny thing is when I got next to the guy at the light, HE WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE TRUCK!!! Before you ask, yes they were all playing, some action flick. Some people are all about the looks without much attention paid to the function.

Coming back from Georgia this weekend we came up to a truck that had a TV in the passenger side dash. Traffic was slightly congested so we were along side him for a little bit. Funniest part was that he was watching p0rn. could see it perfectly from our viewpoint in the toter. Needless to say hubby was jealous, especially since we had Care Bears playing on our TV for the kids.

I'm more an audio guy, so the multiple monitors don't do much for me. YOu need a single dash monitor with a center channel, then your surround sound processors, speakers, amps, and sub... when somebody rolls up and has 'Days of Thunder' or 'The Matrix' playing in 5.1 with the proper setup for a small car cabin I'll be impressed.

I think in most states atleast for sure in Missouri you can have a monitor in front dash or front sun visors etc. BUT the ones that are in drivers view are "suppose" to be hooked up to the emergency brake. So they won't come on unless the E-Brake is on. But the work around is if you barely push the E-brake "enough to make the dash light come on but not enough to apply pressure to the rotors" then monitors work and your DRL's "if equiped" are off.

I guess I am getting old, because I don't see the purpose.

If I wanna watch a movie, I'll pop in a DVD at HOME. A monitor in a vehicle? I thought those moving object things on the road was transportation. BLING BLING to me is all hype.

Like I said...I must be getting old.

Music video's playin in an in-dash DVD player are kinda trick. Most of the new players have touch screen display's that will display a variety of items. Speed, temps, volts, clock, etc... Kinda trick also to watch going down the road.

Same here, but for us the TV is all about the kids. It sure keeps them occupied on those long trips to the track. Noone wants a 3 year old & a 9 month old whining during a trip longer than an hour (closest race is 2 1/2).

I have one (1) monitor installed in my King Ranch - hooked up to a rear view camera so I can see when I back up. I tried the "beep-beep-beep" setup but actually seeing what is directly behind my truck as I back up is the only way to go.
