There use to be a video some where of an F-16 breaking the sound barrier as it went by a carrier. It was cool, you could see a bubble as it went through the barrier. It took it 2 tries the first one you se the burst and the nose of the plane drop as the tail tries to pass over the top. Then he hits it again and is able to get through that time.
