Help me decide, please... which car to work on ...

I've got a couple hundred bucks saved up to spend on the Stang, but I'm thinking about using it for the Z instead.

I was planning on getting a Magnaflow catback setup for the Stang. With discounts I can get it for about $360, and still have about $100-$150 left over for maybe some gauges...

But since the weather's been nice, and the Z has T-tops, I've been driving it to work all this week (pretty much the most I've driven it in the near 8 months I've had it. Well, I was considering selling it, and using the money to buy a bike, or paint my Belvedere, but it's just too much fun, and the GF really wants me to keep it too (and get a bike!) I'm just too poor for all this fun...

So, anyway, I've pretty much decided to keep the Z, but even after all the work I've done getting it running it still needs a lot suspension and steering attention, so should I use my little stash to work on the Z? I can get urathane bushings for around $120, then I need to get new front struts, and rear member mounts/insulators, etc, etc... I'm sure I could easily spend the $500 or so on just the suspension of the Z... and it would be a helluva fun car when I'm done, but the Stang just sounds so average with stock exhaust...

So, what do you guys/gals think I should do?
Get the silver face gauges for the Stang, and spend the rest on the Z?
Get the exhaust for the Stang, and spend the rest on the urathane kit for the Z?
Go all out on the Z?
Save the money, and do nothing?
Sell the Z, and paint the Belvedere?
Sell the Z, and get a bike?
Sell the Z, and save the money?

I've been trying to sell the Z up to this point, and several people really want it, but no one ever comes through with money, and a little turbo car with T-tops really is a lot of fun to drive, plus it's safer (a little) than a bike, and the GF and I can still cruise around in it, save a little on gas, and keep miles off the Stang...

Sell the Z and put your money in the bank. Don't put it in the stang cause you'll never get it back out of it. You'll find something later that you really want, and BAM! the money will be in the bank waiting on you.

Another vote for exhuast + urethane kit.

Once you put that exhaust on the stang, youll want to drive it all the time too.

Ive just been hooked ever since I put it on my stang. I miss that sound. I just put it on my truck last weekend and I love it. It sounds great. But hears the deal, the stang sounds sweet no matter what you put on it. It just has that "stang" sound to it, that no other car has. If you like magnaflow, then go for it. My honest opinion, as to your original question...put all your money into the stang. Exhaust, short shifter, underdrive pulleys, throttle body, CAI or anything you dont already have on it. Dam, I miss my car...I would love to get another one right now , but I have to wait. Let us know what you decide to do.

He's right !
Put the exhaust on the Mustang, sell the Z, forget the bike & throw a few bucks at the Plymouth. A rag top beats a T top any day.

Well, after much debate with friends and GF, and even Dad... I think MROLDV8's suggestion has won out... I just need to concentrate on 1 vehicle, and that will be the Belvedere! That's not to say that after the Stang gets her exhaust there'll be no more new mods, though...

I'm going to sell the Z, and hopefully have enough to paint the Belvedere... if not, I'll just hang on to the cash until I have enough...

Oh, and the Stang will be getting a Magnaflow catback. I'll be placing the order this week... If I can get around to it...

thanks!
