Ford, if you're listening- we'll settle for 2nd place. Give us the 380 HP Lightning engine, in that package that was the "concept" for the 2004+ Lightning, and we'll be content to let Dodge have 1st place.
Just don't try to sell them for $50,000...
OK, 400 HP, that's easier to say than 380; and that's plenty o' power. No need to go HP for HP with Dodge in the Super-Truck arena- they're playing with a V-10 anyway.... Beside, they're probably selling 500 "Bumblebee" Dodges for every Ram SRT/10.

Just going by what I've heard them called.. I've seen a plenty of them, but always from a distance: 90% of what I have seen wee black & yellow (Bumble Bee colors), so it made sense. There's about 6 of them at the local dealership... I may swing by for an up-close & personal look; while I drool all over the Magnum...
The good thing is, to the untrained eye, the "Rumble Bee's" look like Ram SRT/10's. Same hood, etc.... I'd surely have that black sticker peeled off mine, were I to get one...
I've seen 2 SRT/10's- One red, one black.

Like Frank stated ”The '01-04 L's already had 400 HP”. They dyno approx. 360hp at the rear wheels so they are actually putting out in the neighborhood of 420hp at the flywheel.
It has been stated many times the Lightning loses approx. 12 – 15% of the hp through the drive train. Therefore if you were putting out 420hp at the flywheel you would get approx. 357hp to 370hp at the rear wheels…
Also, the 03/04 Lightning’s are averaging approx. 13.3 to 13.5 in the ¼ mile. Stock vs. stock the SRT-10 gets beat the vast majority of the time by stock Lightning’s and the Lightning can tow 5,000 lbs whereas the SRT-10 is NOT recommended to tow at all.
The SRT-10’s, from the reading I have been doing, as well as some good resources are being detuned by the dealers because the SRT-10 was just not designed very well to handle the power of the Viper motor in one big heavy truck. The dumbest idea Dodge had was putting a manual transmission in the SRT-10 that can not stand up to the power of the Viper motor.
The SRT-10 is nothing special from Dodge, it’s simply a truck body that they dumped a Viper motor into and sold it to many people for $50k that didn’t have a lot of knowledge of performance vehicles. They got caught up in the same hype as the people buying “Hemi’s”
The Bumble Bee is just another joke from Dodge to suck money out of the uneducated. You have to give a lot of credit to Dodge because they know how to find naive people and separate them from their hard earned cash.
