Took a Titan in on trade

Took a 2005 titan in on trade yesterday. (They bought a Ford)
Its worth about three grand less than a similarly equipped Lariat.

This thing accelerates nicely, but IMHO thats all it really has going for it.
The first thing you notice before you even get in, is how light and
cheap the door feels when you pull the mechanism and swing it open.
The dash, center stack, door panels, controls etc, all are VERY cheap looking and feeling. Not nearly the quality of the Ford
interiors. The steering wheels seems like it is smaller, and the
redundant controls on the wheel itself are super cheap and chincy looking as well. Clearly built to a price point. The seats are average at best.
I did however like the five speed transmission, and the peppy
acceleration as well as the little tool box on the side of the bed.
That space would be perfect for storing your draw bar, etc if you
tow.
Nissan's first effort into the full size truck market is notable.
Besides the second class cheap interior, and the looks of the thing, it really is not a bad truck.

A fair & balanced review from a Ford man... very nice.

I gotta agree, the interior is a generation behind and sub-par with high quality of the Ford interiors, but the extra gear sure is nice.

Yep; I agree with most points- just about all mags agreed that the Titan's interior looked cheap compared to Ford's..... So does everyone else's- except Toyota- who both Car & Driver and Motor Trend said has the nicest interior of all the trucks.

But, with a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds, (7.1 for the Armada) and a standing quarter of 15.3 @ 88 MPH (15.2 and 89 MPH on the Armada), much is forgiven on a full size truck.

Even Ford got dinged for having interior componenets that were built to a "price point".

Everything is built to a "price point", except maybe the Maybach 57, 62, Aston Martn Vanquish, Rolls Royce's and the Bentley's.

Oh yeah, go sit in one. Bleh. I say they are on-par with the previous generation of F150s. Those were not all that great. Ford hit a homer on the interiors, comfort, ride & handling. Nissan has to play catch-up like all others.

eeewwwwww... 97 GM product interior? Gross.

Have your dealer check those doors, they should be solid & silent. I have a minor rattle in my rear drivers side and the dealer fixed it up real good.

Hmmm... I liked the interior in my 03 much better than the 04+. I haven't gotten into the whole boxy art deco style interior thing yet. Guess that's why I like my 04 Stang better than the 05... Either way I haven't been in a new Titan yet, but they sure "look" cheap, and they're trucks have always been that way...

My buddy just got an 05 Titan LE Crew Cab last weekend and I got a chance to look at it and drive it today. It is fully loaded and I must say that I was impressed with the features and options on the inside of it. It has a ton of little features like all of the tie down spots that are really cool, but I still can't get over the style. I just think the bed is too small for the cab. Overall I like it, and it is powerful(feels more powerful than mine anyway), but I still love my F-150 better.

Man, if this F150 was about $10k lower, I'd be seriously considering it.

Ford Lariat

I just looked at the truck and then looked at KBB. KBB said retail is 18k and to start negotiation from there. its lsted for almost 24k and i think that is way too high.
