Gas Humor (Sometimes, you just gotta laugh)

Cost me $58 bucks to go from 1/4 to full (1st click). If I'd gotten the other 6 gallons (SuperCrew) I'd hae been out of another $13.50 minimum- so, it's a good $61.50 to fill 'er up...
I'm glad I don't live in California, New York City or Chicago. I'm sure they're in the 3's by now...
Next car for me: Corolla Hybrid.
Yeah we have been in the $2.35/gallon price range in northeast Ohio for about 2 weeks. This is unbelievable anymore.
When I first bought my truck, it was $25-30 to fill up from a little under a quarter tank left. Now it's $48-50. Ridiculous.

I am hoping to get a raise soon....or I will have to find another job closer to home. When you drive 400+ miles a week to and from work (THATS IT), and only make $13.80 and hour....something has got to give somewhere besides my pocket.

I filled mine up last friday and it cost $51.50. I turned around on Monday and bought my buddies 4 banger Kia off of him and I plan on using that to run back and forth to work. It is one ugly car, but it gets 35mpg and only cost $24 to fill up. I guess I won't be picking on the little car people anymore......

Sorry, but I'm seeing this 3-4 times a day on this site and it bugs the crap out of me. Illiterates keep repeating the same mistake because they don't know any better. Quit teaching more people to be illiterate. Perhaps if you knew what AND meant, you'd make more than $13.80 an hour.
OK, I'll go back to my corner now. Flame suit is on and zipped up tight. Resume your illiteracy.

Actually it it neglectable.
It depends on the outside temperature and the temperature at which the gas is stored in the underground tanks.
If the outside temperature is lower than the gastemperature, then you are pumping "air".
If the outside temperature is higher than the gastemperature you will gain some extra fuel but not a lot.
The gas will expand in your tank after the meter.
Gas is stored here in underground tanks at 10 degrees celsius.
Per degree celsius the fuel volume increases or decreases 0.1%.
So if you were filling up 60 litres at 7 degrees celsius (3x0.1%) you actually filled up 60x0.3%= about 200 ml less fuel.

Another thing the article wrote about is the adjustment of pumps.
A liter is a liter!
In your case: A gallon is a gallon!
Pumps are inspected every now and then.
The tolerance here is 0.5%. If it's higher then that the pump is shut off and has to be fixed first.
Doesn't matter if the pump is giving more or less than 0.5%, either way it is shut off.
You can see if a pump has been checked by a certified lable or what ever you will call that.
In 2004 53 pumps out of 3276 diesel and gaspumps were out of tolerance.

btw CIA! those were funny.
