Autoshow In Motion: (Grand Prairie, TX)
GM did another Autoshow in motion this past weekend.
Again, I drove everything, the bad part was, you had a choice as to which supercar you wanted to drive, the Corvette or the Cadillac CTS-v. I drove the Corvette, again. Once you drove one, you couldn't drive the other.
This time they had longer straightaways, and they guys were still saying the magic words... "Punch it", which I did..
Shortly after stomping the pedal on 400 horses, the next words out of the guys mouth were "Both hands on the wheel!!" I was driving a manual, which is quite impossible when negotiating an obstacle course of sorts, with the stick in one hand, and the wheel in the other.
That car accellerates like nothing I've ever driven. They had better straightaways this time, so we really got to stretch them a bit. It was fun; but, the lines were longer to drive the GTO and the H2, which are clearly GM's vehicles that appeal most to the masses. No one was in the Saab lines.
I also drove the new, 390 HP SSr, it was nice too. Very nice- and swift.. I'm sure the HHR will be a hit for GM too, although not the hit that the PT Cruiser was for Chrysler...
I still say the Denali pick-up has no match on the road in the light duty arena.
Man-O-Man- had I the resources, I'd have so many cars....
