"Smart" running shoes

Has anyone seen the ads for the new Adidas 1 running shoe. It has a tiny microprocessor in it that constantly senses your weight, speed, and other factors and adjusts the amount of cushoining needed for your current task.

They should cost about $250 a pair and need a new battery every 100 hours.

Does anyone else think some things have gone a little too far?

You can check out the shoes at www.adidas-1.com

I'm not really sure I want my shoes knowing that much about me

I agree, a shoe is a shoe for crying out loud. I can get 10 pairs of shoes for that price plus those gel pads to put in them if I decide I need extra cushioning for my current task.

Ridiculous

I freakin want a pair! That is cool. I dont want them for walking or running recreation or anything because I don't have to! Thats why I bought a Ford! But I do have to stand alot and walk around boats deveral 100 times a day. So that might be nice on the concrete floors. They might have kept me from breaking my toe last summer when I jumped down out of a boat... I didn't land wrong or anything it just decided to break.
