Funny thing is, I'm not that old but I vaguley remeber that! But I don't remeber ever seeing that version of PageMaker that is on the screen! I guess after parents spent that much on a PC then they couldnt afford the high priced software for it! I didn't get PageMaker until Version 4.0.

my first computer was in 1987, a 286 / 10 with half a meg of memory, mono screen and a 10 megabyte hardrive. it ran dos and a program called GEM that looked like an early windows. i think it was around $6000. it was made by a company called DART. it was part of a computer engraving machine. (took a dump in 1992)

then a 386 /16 for around $3500

then a 486/33 for around $2500 (new in 1992 still use it on a computer engraving machine original battery, hardrive and motherboard)

then a pentium 90 loaded with state of the art cd and tape back up - $2500

pentium233 for $1600 (this computer was the first one that really made me go WOW thats fast) this one runs the origianl computer machine i bought new in 1987

now i buy the cheapest E-machine i can find $409

My first was a Commodore Plus-4, then I imoved up to a Commodore 128, which died about 3 weeks later. The company wouldn't take it back so I bought a Commodore 64. When that died I went without a coumputer until 1996.

These were the game tapes.

They used to squeal and screech when loading.
