Yep...Republican/Democrat....flip a coin they are the same.

The only difference is how they deliver the lies.

My gut likes what the Republicans say better but in the end...We're all still picking up the soap in a shower. Gonna hurt regardless of how pretty you make it sound or what party you are a member of.

True vader, but at these prices you'd think they could "oil" us up a lil better!

Something has to be done about the high price of oil.

China should just go find their own oil.

Research has been done in it and although the fuel cell idea isn't really gonna work to well there are other possibilities. No one will push for alternatives untill gas prices reach $10 a gallon and theres another shortage, nowadays it seems technology only goes where the money is. The Biodiesel stuff should be providing a relief within the next 10 years given that stuff is supposed to make a profit for the producers at only $2 a gallon.

Now China is becomming a major player but you still have Joe Shmoe driving around town in a V10 F250 with flow masters and super swamper tires just because its 'cool.' Or you have a small 3 person family driving around in an Excursion cause it is the biggest SUV out there and we got to impress the neighborhood. It all boils down to the basics of supply and demand and in reality were not really doing anything about reducing our demand. Untill companies and consumers get proactive instead of reactive the oil companies will continue to get rape the wallets of their consumers untill theres no oil left.

When engineers and scientists put the pens to the paper and get the funding to do the research on these alternative fuels things happen.

if this article is true, i think it is morally offensive.

the oil wont jump out of the ground by itself. it will take great expenses to get it. that cost will get added at the pump and where ever else the final product is sold.

i think the problem i have had with this all along is why were people pressing to have the reserves released, or drill in areas that are not supposed to be touched if the oil companies are making their biggest profits ever.

sounds to me like this will allow the big corps to continue to sell at high prices but maybe scam the crude a few buck cheaper per barrel (if they are lucky).

that sure as he!! wont be passed on to the public. this sounds like politicans feeding big business with no concern for the average citizen or what is morally right or wrong. if gas is 2.00 per gallon, so be it, supply and demand, but bending the rules to let the big companies make more K (even though they are making more than ever) thats just wrong.

i just dont see any benefit coming out of this other than maybe throwing a few more zero's on to the end of the oil companys profit figures.

You got my vote. Can we take the statue of liberty down and export it with all of these forigners here on temporary visas?

President Bush was the lesser of two evils, who each had a shot at winning. Period.

There are very fuel effecient cars available on the market today, but nobody wants to buy them.

As for gas prices, the single biggest factor is that China doubled their/her/it's rewuirement for crude. In the states the problem is refineries, no new one's have been built since I was in diapers (that I know of).

First, no the citizens of Alaska should NOT get the profit from the oil drilled from their state. Drilling will provide jobs (money for Alaska’s citizens), and the business will provide a tax base in order for Alaska to collect some revenue from the drilling.

Other then that the citizens of Alaska do NOT deserve anymore then any other citizen from any other state. If each state was able to keep all the profits from the businesses that operated in their state you would have some very poor states out there…

This is a good thing regardless if it puts a dent in gas prices or not. It’s not about the price at the pump but rather the supply that makes it to the pump to begin with. The fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals is “dependency”.

Regardless what anyone has been lead to believe “dependency” is bad and will always be bad. It doesn’t matter if we are 15% dependant on the Middle East or 1%, it’s bad regardless because someone else has CONTROL over our life’s. Environmentalist, the real radical ones love “dependency” they don’t want America to be “independent” when it comes to ANY energy source because they have always put roadblocks in the way to “independence”.

So how much profit are the EVIL oil companies making that are claimed to be “record breaking”? Are they in line with any other business? From a few different websites claiming the EVIL oil companies were making record profits they all basically stated:

”The 10 largest oil companies had 1 trillion dollars in sales and made 100 billion in profit.”

Ok, so a trillion has 12 zeros, and a billion has 9 zeros. Well if you divide 100 billion into 1 trillion you come up with 10%, DAMN!!!! 10% is record profits.

Guess what, Exxon Mobil is on the top 10 profit earning companies so far this year BUT they are not the top one. Wal-Mart tops the list, followed by Exxon Mobil, which just recently bumped off General Motors from second to third. Ford is on the top ten but not sure where.

So yes oil companies are making profit but they are doing so like any other business and NOT raping people any more then Wal-Mart, General Motors, Ford or others…

There are alternatives to other fuels out there but NO body wants them especially the environmentalist. They don’t want nuclear power plants, they don’t want windmills, at least no where in THEIR site, they don’t want to burn coal, they don’t want to burn trees, they don’t want to build damns for hydropower, they just really don’t want much of anything but stand in the way and say NO, NO, NO…

Don’t be so fast to blame oil companies when environmentalist and democrats don’t care to do anything about the problem but blame others and stand in the road like a dead log…
