Ford Freestyle replacement?

I read in Motor Trend last night that Ford has already gotten a successor planed for the still-born Ford Freestyle. It will be badged "Ford Fairlane" and will be based on the Ford Fusion/Mazda 6 platform with a boxier style...

I think it'll be a mistake to make it that small, but- J. Mays doesn't report to me.... Yet.

Huh... I think Ford should get their head out of their **** and give us this Fairlane: https://www.ford.com.au/fairlane/Default.asp

Ohhh Billy, why TF do the aussies get all the cool stuff?! C'mon!!! Your killing me!!!

Instead, you give us this lame-o concept:

I really didn't look at it at NAIAS.. this pic makes it look better:

Definitely better than the Freenostyle.

April Edition of Motor Trend.

I saw a caption about "Heads rolled" at Ford after the lauch of the Freestyle... That caught my eye, so I read it. I've had teh mag since March 1st, and I just noticed this article last night..

I'll look on MT.com to see if I can cut & paste it here...

we (wife and I) were considering a purchase next year. I looked for the article but couldn't find it. Any additional info would be good.

Thx

Jim

they launched this thing in the dust of a V8 Magnum wagon.

As soon as they equip the Freestyle with the new 3.5 Cyclone, it should start selling well.

I had a friend named Ray Midden from Ala - by God- bama; who had a Ford Fairlane.

He named it "Christine" and had that emblazoned across the back window.

It was baby blue with a 289 Hi-Po in it.

Schweet car...

I don't remember the year.. 65', 66'-
whatever it was, it was nice...

I'd love to see what Chip Foose could do with it.

I stand corrected.

I read it wrong- it's not a replacement for teh freestyle, it's a replacement for the Freestar...

It's on page 26 of the April edition of Motor Trend, upper right hand section.
