in the early 90's i filled out the paper work to go through the lemon-law process on a chevy s-10 pickup.

when chevy was notified, they contacted me with an offer. they gave me back everything i paid for the truck towards the purchase of a new one.

if i remember right, i had about 30,000 or so miles on it, then rolled it in for the new next years model, and i think i ended up paying maybe 300 dollars more for the new truck in total.

funny thing was i had problems with that truck too, but didnt want to go through all the hassle again. i just decided then that i would never buy another gm vehicle during my lifetime.

also, 'on paper' they considered me a happy gm customer, as it was like settling out of court (without actually going through the lemon-law arbitration process).

You said you just found out. Who told you? I would think if the dealership did, the process would go smoothly.
