I got a new job!

I've been scarce lately but I figured that I would drop in and tell you all the good news. Some of you might remember this thread from just before xmas... (https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...light=laid+off)

Tomorrow I start my new job, still at the University of Rochester, but in a different department. I'm making a bit more money that my old job and I got a one month paid vacation thanks to severance pay. HaHa, jokes on my old boss, he told me he would "generously" keep me on until I started my new job and that seemed great until I learned that I could get paid for sitting on my *** for a month b/c I'm entitled to 4 weeks of severance pay. I think he was annoyed that he didn't get another month out of me but had to pay me anyway, oh well, almost makes us even for laying me off right before xmas with no warning (I later found out he knew this was a distict possibility for almost 5 months). I'm looking forward to this job, it's woking with some cutting edge technology and I'll get to make a decent amount of connections and useful contacts. I do hope that my customer service skills are up to the task though.

Anyway, I'm going to be working longer hours but hopefully I'll make my way back here more frequently.

Congratulations! Funny how things work out, I honestly believe that we reap what we sow. Seems like whenever I plot revenge on some ash-hole that wronged me, I end up being the one who loses. But when I just let it be, they usually end up getting their just reward.

Anyways, glad you got a promotion out of the deal after your 4 week paid vacation. This calls for nanners.

fatman66,

Congratulations on the job...hopefully it won't interfere with your F150online "hobby"
I had noticed you hadn't posted in a while, and was wondering how things were going for you. I'm glad to hear you are well.

Good luck in the new job.

Sweet fatty, glad to hear your back in business & more coin in your pocket. With hard work and dedication, you might, *MIGHT* just be able to sell that hoopty you drive and move up to a Lariat.

Congrats man!

I'm glad everything worked out for you. It sounds like you are better off now, so it was all for the best in the big picture.

Wish I could say conrats, but my current idea is retirement and screw the job. Who needs the finer things in life, like food clothes, and BEER the bums make out just fine. Oh yeah I need the essentials like my truck.

Anyway congrats.

I'm afraid I'm still not making enough coin to upgrade the Lariat, even if i did I think that a Lariat for me would be like putting a silk hat on a pig , I'll just have to drive the XLT back to my housing project and open a can of Spam and crack a Pabst Blue Ribbon for dinner.

Thanks for all the replies guys and girls, first day was good but busy, jumped right in. I got to work one of the robots, it's pretty cool.

Well, it will give you something to strive for. Perhaps your next truck can be one of those FX3½s. Robots?! Can you make them do perverted things? Well, I guess you should wait a week or so before you make the robots hump. Might not look good to the boss in the first week.
