We've had some monopoly games get down-right hostile...

In fact, we don't have them anymore now that we have kids; if that's any indication of how intense it used to get...

Clue - I always sucked at that game. Lost every time.

Sorry for sure.

Phase 10 is a cool card game.

Life was cool, I don't like the new board, though. Has to be the old-school version.

I remember hating Chutes N' Ladders and Candyland as a little kid.

I loved playing Operation: Take out his spare rib for $100! Sweet! Zap! Ouch!

I liked playing Hertz Donut with the new kids. Sock them in the arm and say "hurts, don't it" Not really a board game, more like a bored game...

These days I'm just happy if I can get girls to play twister with me...

Life---JnM, I like the old version better too but I liked Chutes n' Ladders and Candyland!!!

Scrabble & Uno---not board games but fun anyhow!

Trivial Pursuit--Sorry--Clue--Aggravation--Go For Broke

I never cared much for Monopoly because it always took way to long to play a game.

That would be Ker-Plunk!!

Just went through the boardgames recently: Life, Monopoly, Scrabble, Battleship, Trivial Pursuit, etc.

I don't know what happened to some of the games we used to play to death, although they are probably selling for top dollar on E-Bay. Some examples:

Lie, Cheat, and Steal-The object was to do just that and con other players out of their money and property.

Mad Magazine Game- You were supposed to lose all your money, sort of a reverse PayDay. The catch was that you kept getting money; including the dreaded $8,247 bill.

StockMarket-It was a lot more fun until you saw what could happen to your 401K.

Same here. The biggest joke was we would secretly time how long it would take from the time we started playing to when the first person got called by a bad name (it was usually me being called the B word).

I would never, EVER say the "B" word.

We never play games that get "hostile", but I do get aggrivated at my mom when we play Yahtzee....she counts EACH die.

We get just as bad when we play Risk. We don't play for total domination we play for missions. It's great when one of us gets the mission to wipe out our spouse. You can feel the love at the table.

There have been a couple times where spouses have retaliated the next round no matter what their mission was. There was once where they didn't even bother to look at their mission card because they already knew what they were going to do (turned out that it was their mission anyways so they won). Ahhh, good times.

Hmmm, maybe we'll get a game of that going this Saturday since Rob's taking the day off to start getting the truck & new rig ready for racing season.

We used to play Parchesi (sp?) a lot but for the life of me I cannot find this game anymore. It was a fun game.

As far as hostility goes, Phase Ten is the devil. That game is a lot of fun but it brings out the meanness. I play it with my wife and in-laws. The in-laws are very very Christian, but it takes everything I got not to call my monster-in-law a cheating b*tch.
