Quick question about Home Depot:
Ive pretty much been offered a job in Tupelo Mississippi at Home Depot. Im going to see if I can get an internship and possibly do some upper level work there since Im pursuing a Bachelor in Business Management. . Does anyone know how much the different positions pay there? What are the different areas of work other than cashier/floor sales? Any general information anyone can share? I dont know a whole lot about the store from an employee's perspective.
Thanks!

May not be what your looking for, but before I got my B.A. in business admin, I did loss prevention work (catching shoplifters) It's usually one of the better paying positions in a retail store, your work hand in hand with upper management, and Home depot was always one of the better paying companies. Just a thought bud.
thanks sherm!
Glad to hear Home Depot might pay something decent. Im tired of single digit, small town jobs that get you no where. Im ready to start making a little money and working with the stuff Im learning here at school

Hey Green,
I've heard from numerous folks taht Home Depot is an all around good place for a college or high school student to work for. Apparently, they offer many opportunities for advancement--and look favorably on the pursuit of higher education. I've never heard a bad thing about them... but sorry I can't provide any details... retail isnt my cup of tea!
Oh, and yea, I've been told they pay decent too.
Hope this is of some help...

I know a joke that has the words Home Depot in it...
A young family moved into a house, next door to a vacant lot. One day a construction crew turned up to start building a house on the empty lot.
The young family's 5-year-old daughter naturally took an interest in all the activity going on next door and spent much of each day observing the workers. Eventually the construction crew, all of them gems-in-the-rough, more or less less adopted her as a kind of project mascot. They chatted with her, let her sit with them while they had coffee and lunch breaks, and gave her little jobs to do here and there to make her feel important.
At the end of the first week they even presented her with a pay envelope containing a couple of dollars. The little girl took this home to her mother who said all the appropriate words of admiration and suggested that they take the $2 "pay" she had received to the bank the next day to start a savings account.
When they got to the bank, the teller was equally impressed and asked the little girl how she had come by her very own pay check at such a young age.
The little girl proudly replied, "I worked last week with the crew building the house next door to us."
My goodness gracious," said the teller, "and will you be working on the house again this week, too?"
The little girl replied, "I will if those * * * * * * *s at Home Depot ever deliver the * * * *ing sheet rock...!"
