Kobi,

If you ever get a chance to see this comedian, he does an excellent bit about mocking inconsiderate idiots on their cell phones, you will be howling with laughter.

He lives in LA, but I had no luck trying to find his appearance schedule.

He'll be in my town again in a few weeks, I'll ask him when he will play LA.

i agree with many of your points, but to dis invent the cell phone would be one of the worst things to happen, and most of you would agree. I think there should be restrictions on cell phones that can be punishable by fines and what not. But i will never give up a cell phone. I was in a car accident with 3 other people, needless to say, without a cell phone, one of them could have died. No i wasn't driving, and the accident had nothing to do with a cellphone. Luckily the worst injury was a concussion, but even that is a serious matter. I live out in the country, and there were no houses for a mile or so in each direction, and without a cell phone, one of us would have had to find help, or waited for someone to find us. You can see where i am going with this. Cell phones are life savers when they work in certain situations.

As for Closer9, man i would have smashed that person so hard in the face the cell phone would been part of his brain, that way he could talk using his brain, not his mouth.

ummm..... NO!! We have plenty of laws, fines, restrictions, etc. on our civil liberties as it is. Cops have enough REAL crimes to address without running around ticketing people for using their cell phone at the wrong time. And you cannot legislate common sense. Why in the world would someone be in favor of creating yet another layer of bureaucracy? Do you not yet have enough government control over your life? Do you not yet pay enough taxes?
BOOOOO!! HISSSSSSSSSS!!!

Even if they have newer wifi equipment and try this then you can use your laptop on thier wifi to make internet calls from so they would be shooting at the wrong target still.
I think that older, analog-only cellphones operate in the 900mhz spectrum. Newer, digital phones operate around 1800 or so.

Personally I believe that a cell phone is for MY convience, not the person who is calling me.

If they can't leave a voicemail then the call wasn't important.

Its been a few years since I let my FCC license go...LOL I havn't been in radio for over 8 years now I moved on and so does the equipment...LOL

In that case 1800 might fuzz your 2.5 WAN some....If somebody seen someone zapping a cell and it fuzzed thier network connection while they were trying to work and drink thier morning coffee that would be more annoying than some one on a cell phone to me. Use one of these gadgets in public, and if a worker or student trying to do some work happened to see it used like that and it messed up thier ability to work. They might shove it so far down their throat they would have to fart to use it from then on....I know I would!!!! LOL

RockyJSquirrel, i stand corrected, you have a great point. I just hate it when you hear of accidents that are caused by people playing with cell phones, that's what wireless head sets and speaker phones are for. But i guess more people need to die before people realize that these things can save lives. Some people can multiple task, but that is no reason to be playing with the cell phone when driving. Yes we need cell phones, but we don't need to talk on them 20 out of the 24 hours of the day.

And yes, the government has way too much involvement in our lives, but with the crap going on now days, well, yeah.

state trooper told us at a holiday safety brief that cheese burgers cause more accidents then cell phones do in this area.
