Always wear your seatbelt....
Always wear your seatbelt....
I'm 17, i live in Lee's Summit, MO (its by kansas city) I was driving home in my mom's honda (she was parked behind the f150) and a guy pulled out in front me. I hit him, got sandwiched in between him and the curb, and the car flipped. I was the only one in there, and i was wearing my Harley Davidson jacket, so all i ended up with was a scratch on the elbow and a scratch on my hand from crawling out. After the paramedic inspected me, he dropped this bomb on me: If i hadn't been wearing my seat belt, i most likely would have died. Although if I had been driving the truck (thank god i was nt) i wouldnt have flipped. So just a reminder to always wear your seat belt and drive safe!
I'm now a lifelong convert of wearing my seatbelt(always do anyway)

That's all it takes is one accident. My sister flipped her Expedition a few years ago... it rolled 3 and 1/2 times. If she didn't have her seatbelt on she would've been dead no doubt.

(I know it was too fast). There was the driver, the passenger & I was behind the driver in the back. All of us were buckled.
We hit the dip @ an angle, he over corrected & went flipped 41/2 times front over end & ended upside down of the road about 20'. Luckily some passer-byers helped us & called an ambulance & such, I was air-vaced cause I had head trauma.
Week in the hospital, surgery to put in a screw & then one later to remove a screw (& extra piece of boen they missed the first time?!) My leg still isn't totally straight.
Severely sprained ankle, fractured pelvis, broken clavical, broken knee (not the cap), fractured skull (they never told us for sure on that).
I like seatbelts, ALOT!

Yikes, what kind of Jeep?
I agree, seatbelts are an absolute must. Me and my 72 Chevelle went over a guard rail, about 30 feet down and 75 feet away from the road, cutting a tree in half on the way down. The landing impact separated the frame from body on the drivers side, the rear landed so hard that the top of the gas tank was about 1 inch below the trunk opening. Motor and trans came out in two pieces, along with the driveshaft and rear springs. Steering column broke away from the dash after the steering wheel was hit with my chest plate, leaving a dent in my chest. WALKED away with bruises, a sore back, some cuts and a hyper-extended finger joint. There is no question that seat belts saved my life.
10 years after I showed a co-worker pics of the car and he said (no lie) "Holy S**t! Did you live through that?" Still laugh about that.

Good to know your alright. Accidents can come out of nowhere, so it's always a good idea to wear your seat belt. It doesn't take long to make it a habit....and a great habit it is.
Sorry bout your mom's car. Life sux without wheels.

I work at a doctor's office where we see people for work comp & auto accident injuries. One of the doctors once told me that she wears her seat belt not to keep her from dying but to save her quality of life. Chances are if you're not wearing one & don't die in the accident then you will end up with severe injuries that will change your life dramatically.
After that I have made sure I always wear my belt.
