Anyone know what this program is?
I found a small icon in my system tray, it's a small icon of a steaming hot cup of coffee, and when I click on it, it says
"Java 2 (TM)

Now when I went back to look, it was gone!

I've been deleting a lot of crap off this machine, all the Dell 'trial programs and such, their 'paint and picture studios, and all the non essential trash.

Anyone know what that java thingy is / was?

It's a program that allows your computer to read certain interactive type web pages. It's a good program, virtually a requirement for web surfing. The only reason it's not a Microsoft program is because Java refused to allow Gates to buy them out, and then Gates refused to allow Java to be included with Windows.

I think most computers will come with it already installed anyways.

BTW it will disappear (or should) when you close the Java enabled webpage.
