Actually it's '62, I forgot to add my age this year, my b-day isn't til June. Yes, we had TV's, silly boy...sheesh. Only 3 channels and us kids were the remote control!!

I remember our first remote control for the tv was the old "tuning fork" type, that changed the channel with an audible "ping" tone.
It was called the Zenith "Space Command". It had four metal strips and four buttons that when pressed struck the strip and created an ultra-sonic ping. You could turn the tv on and off (button one)
Change the channel up (button two)
Change the channel down (butto three)
Turn the sound on or off (button four)
That was really something. Then, COLOR TV came latter (had to get color after Batman came out)
Yup - the good old days.
(we also had to walk 20 miles in the snow to get to school . . . with no shoes . . . and we were happy to do it!)
