Bass Boats & Fishing
I can't wait for the ice to go out. Bass does not open till June. They spawn around May (here anyways) The lake trout spawn in the fall (October). Pike is open now so is Walleye and Lake Trout.
Likely Ontario has thousands of lakes! (no joke) most of the lakes have never been fished. Some of the northern lakes have probably never seen a lure. I was up in Pickle Lake, Ont and the Walleye were just all over my lures! Incredible fishing.
There are some great lakes my way that are only available by fly in or atv. Those lakes are great. The bass aren't huge but there are tons of them. It makes for a fun day! We do a lot of catch and release. We don't keep much.

Thats how I fish too.
Catch and release is the way to go. When I was a little jamzwayne (about 8 or so) my cousin took me fishing, he told me, "if you let them go, they will get bigger". I understood, and thats how I have been fishing ever since.
Except the 10.5 lbs Bass I caught when I was like 13....I had to show him off. I cant find that picture anywhwere.
If I could go back and know now, what I didnt back then...I might of mounted him.
Not because he was HUGE, but they are really pretty fish.
Here's a link to the Texas fisheries in Athens

My rigs serve dual purpose between major channel catfish and striper/wiper fishing. Okuma Epixor Baitfeeder reels (spinning reels that can freespool) with 250 yds of 20lb test copolymer mono. 7'0" Medium Heavy Penn Mariner rods.
Want to catch big, you've gotta fish big...

Do you have a Bass Pro Shop around you? They just built one not far from me. It's paradise! I love that place. Wall Mart has some great lure selections aswell. Candian Tire has a great selection of lures. There rods suck but the lures are great.
There is a Bass Pro Shop in the Dallas area......talk about JOYGASM. man I love that place.
I buy all my stuff from Wal-Mart, pretty much all we have round here. It gets me by with basic needs. The Rods here are decent. Of course, they carry some crappy stuff as well, but mainly all good gear. We also have an Academy in the Dallas area, but they are a little bit pricey on their fishing supplies.
I am hoping the weather stays nice like this for awhile, all this talking is making me wanna get my line in the water.

I might buy a honda 2hp in the spring. We have boats stached around back lakes and a 2hp would fit on my atv. A great little trolling engine and sips gas.

I'd settle for a 14' John boat with a 9.9 on it to hit the local ponds and lakes in VA.
If I hit the Mass Millions I`m going right to the boat show in Boston this saturday and buying a Seaswirl Striper 2901 Walk around with twin 250 Verados. Then this spring I will load up the boat with Stripers and stippers and beer.
