Any difference between XL seats and XLT seats?

I have a 97 F-150 XL with a full bench seat. I found some capt. chairs from a 2003 F-150 XLT. To my knowledge the floor mounting holes are in the same places in both trucks. Is there any reason I couldn't use the '03 seats as a replacement for the full bench in my '97?

If the holes lineup, and the capt chairs will not be in the way of your steering wheel, you should be fine.

I'm curious, how would a capt. chair get in the way of the steering wheel?

Depends on how one drives. I use my center console to rest my right arm, and drive with the left, or I use the window to rest my left arm and drive with my right.

If the arms on the capt chair are too close to the steering wheel, that would hinder my "lazy turns", and I would bump my elbows.

See what I mean?

~OR~

Like EnglishAdam said...put them sumbishes in backards...that'll do it for sure.

<EDIT> Now that I am thinking about it Adam....your getting closer and closer each day to being a redneck. Good job, and keep up the good work.

Okay, now will the buckets from a '97 Expy fit a '97 F-150 XL?

It's a definite maybe. We don't know. Probably.

Can you look at your XL to see how they are mounted then look at the exy seats?

That's a little hard to do on eBay.

Ok wise guy. Look at your seats then cruise to the nearest Ford dealer with and Expy (or whatever) with the same seats you want to buy.

Tell the salesman you are interested and have a look. Pretend you are looking for the CD changer or something.

Sheesh

I heard that the difference is that MUCH cooler people sit in the XLT seats!
