You simply plug in your address and POOF, there is a satellite picture of your house, neighbors house, White house, NY, NY, Military base whatever you have an address for.

This is bad a$$

What is the Site? If you're referring to Microsoft's Terra Server, it's been online for years. Unfortunately the latest photos from where I live are 02'

You used to be able to get that off of Mapquest.

There are certain sites that you cannot access in TerraServer. Places like the White House and military classified sites. You can see them, you just can't zoom in on them.

About 3 years ago on another forum everybody posted pictures of their house. We had about 4 pages of replies.

But they are watermarked.
I used to be in a GIS class that had aerial photos of anything we wanted...but you couldnt access them without a username and password.

I've been using that program for a while now... It is VERY VERY cool!

The only problem is that there is limited coverage. We actually insert some of these images into environmental reports at work...

With the GIS software we used I could zoom in enough to see shingles on my roof

Maybe not actually that close

I would but that was several years ago when I was a soph or jr in high school...I no longer have access to that software or the arial photos, although all you really need is the photos, they are just huge images (.jpgs or .tiffs usually) with really high resolutions.

I think the highest resolution we worked with then (they may be better now) was 1.5 meter. When you zoomed in close enough, you could make out individual squares/pixels. My dad's truck in our driveway was composed of about 6 squares.

I just found this app:

http://www.keyhole.com/

Supposedly it has 1ft resolution photos of some major cities.
I'm just going to try the trial and see if I can get in nice and close
