Although he made repeated thinly veiled attempts to lead the Decepticons in the series, Starscream took advantage of Megatron's pending death to hasten his meeting with Oblivion. Astro-Train told them they needed to jetison some weight if they had any hope for survival. So, many badly damaged Decepticons were released into deep space; including Megatron- whom Starscream took to the hatch himself, saying: Oh how it pains me to do this. then let him go.

Megatron, and several other key players from the series were intercepted by Unicron. Megatron would have died, but Unicron repaired him and made him Galvatron~ but Unicron had control over him in the process.

He also turned the other Decepticons into new members; Scourge and the Sweeps. I think he made Cyclonis too; but I haven't seen that movie in 16 years. (As you can tell- I was a HUGE fan).

Upon his return to Earth (Or Cybertron, I forget) Starscream was undergoing his "Coronation" to become the Leader of the Decepticons. Galvatron arrived and said- "Coronation Starscream? This is bad comedy." And transformed into a big gun, and killed Starscream with one shot...

Instead of repairing Optimus (Spark was gone), Ultra Magnus became the leader, but the Matrix of leadership would not repond to Magnus. In the end, Hot Rod, the main reason why Optimus was killed, was able to open the Matrix, and in doing so he became Rodimus Prime.

There's a lot more- but I won't ruin it all for you- if you haven't seen the movie.

But, fear not- Optimus Prime was resurrected in the series and fought along side Rodimus Prime. Starscream came back as a ghost and possessed Cyclonis, taking over his body.

I kinda lost track after that as the series started getting cheesy with so many robot teams: Predacons (Predaking), Protectobots (I forget), Aerial Bots (Superion), Constructicons (Devastator), Stunticons (Minisor), Terracons (I forget), and more....

 

In my teenage years, I had a particular affinity for **** Dastardly and the Vulture Squadron.



Rather cruel now but an aquaintance of mine had Tourettes Syndrome and we nicknamed him Clunk after Dastardlys plane builder.
He took it all in good heart though and could do a mean impression of him without trying.
