MP3 Player - Itune compatible?
Just a quick update...
My wife gave me a mini ipod for Valentine's day (weird...I was out today buying somehting for her
)
Well it is only 4 gigs but 1000 songs is probably enough.
Works great. I put it in the center overhead comparment ran the cable to the Aux input behind the DVD player and put it on shuffle. Sounds great....
I'm not as upset that my audiophile doesn't play mp3s....even though it should
Just and FYI

I believe you can use any MP3 file, as long as it is a compatible format.

Look under "audio support"
You should be safe if you stick with apple's file types and .mp3s or .wavs

The iPod supports mp3's and AAC (mp4's) and a couple other formats you probably wouldn't normally use for portable music (.aiff and .wav). It also supports DRM encoded AAC's from the iTunes music store. The basic rule is that the iPod only *officially* supports your own ripped discs and music purchased at the iTunes store. Music purchased from other sources may not play even if they claim it will (like the service from Real). The only other site which sells music that will play is www.allofmp3.com because they sell non-DRM'ed files.
