They what.........They better send me a check for that idea.
I would guess that most companies would utilize this free resource of information. If a company is customer driven then they need to know what the customer is thinking.
Do I think that Ford uses this site as a resource? Yes, I do. I also think that this would be only one of many sources they use. This site has a lot of members but still only represents a small part of the people buying their products.
I really hope that they are using the information they gather to give us, the customer, more of what we want. If you read the new car reviews a majority of the time they will say that Ford products are generally good but I read, and have experianced, that the lack of power is an issue. I don't think that people are asking that Ford advertise with the biggest numbers but rather deliver a product that will perform to the customers expectations. Other auto makers are doing just that. The reviews make that quite clear.
I don't think that it's necessary for Ford to make bigger and bigger, gas guzzeling motors to achieve better power. I'm sure that the engineers make good money. I would think that they would be able to use more of todays technology to achieve better power from smaller displacement engines. Forced induction is a viable option as well. It's been sucsessful for many auto makers.
I've modified my F150 to achieve better power. I will be in the market for a new vehicle soon though. Ford has some products in a specific price range that I'm interested in but they have been labled as underpowered. If Ford doesn't address this concern of mine, and of many high ranking new car magizines, many of us may just purchase our next vehicle for a company other than Ford. I hope that Ford is hearing that!
I hope Ford is awhere that time is of the essence. Perhaps there are plans to build better engines. If they don't spread that 3 valve 4.6 and if they don't soon replace the ageing 3.0 I think a lot of people will be looking elsewhere.
Geez, I hope Ford is listening. I've been pretty loyal to Ford. I push their products. I like a lot of what I see on the horizon. I don't like that in a nice, comfortable vehicle, they don't seem to believe that customers want a smooth yet stout powerplant. I hope that by the time I'm ready to make a purchase they have utilized resources like this to read the customer.

is ford listening
In canada the answer is no.We had questions about the top allowable R.P.M so we could have a red line on the Tachometer on a 2004 Freestar
with a 4.2 engine and the service manager and the factory would not release the information ( we never get asked for that)
we finally got it from an internet site
We asked about the transmission operation on the automatic
Because the unit has the second speed hidden in the D indicator of the gear selector
They would not advise at what R.P.M that the transmission could be downshifted on hills to be able to achieve engine braking
without taking the engine revs too high WE have many severe grades and want to save the wheel brakes,
There were wrong bulbs installed in the 2 added park lamps
These had to be changed from 12 C.P to C.P. meet our regulations
We were told by Ford that we could change the bulbs ourselves
or instal an on?off switch at our expense
The cooperation by local on service oil and lube ie excellent
But there is very little technical or operation information
provided when the operators manual is sketchy
