Ok, so educate me on something...what makes the car jump like that after he pulls up to the line...before the start?

I would say he set the line lock then held the engine at 4 grand. the torque then loads up in the drive line. this is the jump you see before the car launches.

I thought he did that to get the other guy to jump the light and red light.

when in the lanes you dont really see the other car. Notice it does it after the pre stage when he trips the stage lights. He is loading up ready to launch.

the car "jumps"like that because its a automatic tranny and after they pre-stage..most guys put the car in neutral and clean it out so the car wont accidently roll thru the beams..it jumps like that after the trans brake is acctuated and the car is put in first gear and "goes up against the converter"while staging...zap!
