Goodbye Emmit???

On the news the other day, Emmitt said he wanted to keep playing-

Yahoo just broke teh story that his is retiring, and will sign a 1-day contract so he can retire as a Cowboy.

Well, Emmitt; I've always been a fan man. We're the same age, in fact- I'm 3 days older than you are. Good luck man- "Ya done real good". Much respect to the man that was the main reason why I liked the Cowboys (After Dorsett left), even though I was a 49ers fan....

It's probably time for him to hang it up but, no doubt, he's impacted the sport in a huge way. He was, in my opinion, always a class act and has been one of my favorite players.

I was a cowboys fan before the Ravens came to town. I thought the Cowboys did him wrong....just give the guy some cash and let me him finish he last few years in Dallas. Not like they did much with his money anyhow.

I was a Cowboy fan before the Ravens. Sorry to see him go, he was a great back. 5 years from now another Cowboy will enter the hall in Canton.

I love the Cowboys and Emmit was one of my all time favorites. It made me sick seeing him in red. Good luck Emmit.

just to update yall, today emmitt signed a one day contract with the cowboys, and then in a press conference thereafter officially called it quits. It was only fitting for him to "come home" to retire.

I live in Houston and was mad as hell when they started showing Texans games not Dallas games on the local TV channels around here. I am the same age as Emmitt and have followed his pro career from start to finish. I have met him many times and he is a class act. When a ton of players where getting into trouble on the Dallas team, Emmitt was there to support them but was never involved in anything stupid. I am glad I got to see him play, he is a great player and even a better man.

Been a fan for many years. I will always remember him playing in New York with a bad shoulder and just exerting his will on the Giants.

A class act all the way, see you in the HOF.

Even though I always hated the Cowboys (all that "America's Team" crap was too much), Emmitt always had CLASS, which is so sadly lacking in sports today. Don't these bozos have any concept of their "legacy?"

Up here in Minnesota, we have low-lives like Moss and Spreewell, who, if they couldn't catch a football or shoot a basketball (not earned or learned, but God-given skills), they'd be living under a bridge or in a cardboard box.

Complete TRASH!

Emmitt was a great role model and Christian guy. Glad to see him retire with the Cowboys. Makes me wish Sweetness was still alive. RIP Walter.

Im glad he's retiring as a cowboy, and welcome him back.

I kind of try and ignore the fact that he went to "you know where" for a couple of years.
