Any Computer Gamers Here?

My new computer should be here soon, and it has a decent graphics card in it
Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition

I want to buy a few games to take advantage of this card and need some recommendations.

Last time I played any games was when Resident Evil was big on Playstation, I thought those games were cool.

What's the best games out there, I need some suggestions.

Thanks

Best game I've played in years:

Star Wars: Knights of the old Republic. It was game of the year last year. Kinda like an RPG/Adventure game combined. The sequel is do out in a few weeks.

You can pick up the original for less than $20 bucks and it is absolutely worth the $50.

I'm preordering #2.

BTW I'm no big gamer anymore...kids do that to you.

Man, I'm gonna be honest with you.

I was getting into PC games a while back, and to me its a pain in the **** when something goes wrong with the PC and you don't wanna loose any saved info on a game. pisses me off

I am now a full blown CONSOLE GAMER ( I dont care what anyone says).

Consoles are cheaper, and they dont **** me off as much...If something happens to my PS2, Game Cube, or XBOX....all my saved info is on a lil memory card, replace the console (few bucks, but not like PC repair)...PLUS - I can take that memory card to friends houses and bring the games I want to play, and have MY game savesd with me to use or share......screw a PC for gaming.

<end rant>

Doom 3 was cool, but dark. Half life 2 is the best game I've played. Try counter strike source if you got broadband.

Half Life 2 is pretty much the best game the hit the PC ever.

If you liked Resident Evil you should like this game. The graphics are pretty much awesome from what I have heard and the gameplay is great as well.

Thanks guys,

I'll look for some of those titles in the next week or so.

jamzwayne, I hear what you're saying man, I have the consoles myself (xbox - ps1 - N64) I just don't play them.

I heard this graphic card is supposed to be pretty good so I want to get a few games that take advantage of the technolgy and try it out.

Regards

Sorry my kids are 8 and 10 and not into any of the cool games yet. Hey at least they graduated out of Busy Town and Tonka Joe.

I play on Gamecube

Desert combat which is a BF1942 mod..

Doom 3 got boring after awhile. Half life 2 i've heard is pretty good graphics and a decent story line. I mainly play Desert combat. Battlefield 2 is coming out soon

Its the best card out right now (one of the best anyway depending on who you ask...) Half-Life 2 will really shine in multiplayer, so if you dont have broadband yet, you might want to look into that

I played Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory a few years back, kind of a WWII setting, I loved that game, but it kind of died off and I dont know if anybody still plays it.

Then I got into Unreal Tournament 2004 (where most of the RTCW:ET people went to), and I played that for a long time, until this past august when I moved down here to college station. This would probably still be a good game to check out, especially if you like multiplayer games, as it should still be getting alot of play.

Since then I havent actually tried any new games...I just cant afford to upgrade my computer and most games just kill this computer.

Alright....I'll bite.

I havent played it, but I hear people at work EVERYDAY talking about World of Warcraft.

They say it's more addicting then Everquest.
